If I could give no star review I would. Everything about this rack is garbage. This thing scratches if you even look at it wrong, and it will rust within days of installing, even where it isn't scratched. Got home from work one day and the side of my truck was covered in rust drips from driving in the rain one day. Installing the upper portion the tubes did not line up properly even after putting the square plate on holding it together so it is not 100% straight. On top of all that was the wind noise. I have had racks on trucks for the past 15 years so I expected some noise but this thing is absolutely unbearable once you hit about 55mph. By far the worst ladder rack I have owned by a mile.Save yourself the aggravation and spend the money on something of quality because this is not it. Took a while getting around to installing this so I'm well outside return window, but as soon as my new racks come in this one will be cut up and brought to the scrap yard where it belongs.

Much better quality than I expected, after reading other reviews. Rack was easy to assemble with two people, which will be needed when installing on truck. Metal was much heavier gauge than I was expecting and the heavy-duty bolts are a definite plus. The paint was not beat up in shipping and looks very good. I did purchase a can of Rustoleum 2x in dark walnut which is a good match to the original paint and used it to cover scraped spots that I did when assembling the rack. The rack arrived several days sooner than expected, in two boxes which were somewhat torn up due to the weight of the rack. One box weighed 100 lbs and was not easy to handle. You will need three different metric deep sockets and an adjustable wrench to put this thing together. What I did was to assemble it in my carport and then separate it into the front and back halves and then put it on the truck (with my wife's help). I also added a one inch spacer under the front two support legs to give necessary clearance over the cab of my 2019 F250 (which has a 6 1/2 ft bed. Leave the fittings loose because there will be a lot of shifting and adjusting to get everything just like you want it.

This was an excellent value for the price. Yes, it’s ugly. Yes, as others have said, it will rust in some places, so expect to need to paint it if you care about looks. However, the functionality and weight capacity at this price isn’t even close to anything else. It’s large and solid as a rock. There are some squeaks as you drive over rough surfaces, but not bad. It just barely fit onto the 5’ bed of my Colorado and it’s sits fairly high off the cab - but that keeps wind noise way down. It’s barely noticeable at 70 mph. I did have to get creative bolting it to the rail b/c of the way my Colorado bed rail is constructed. Basically, I have one J hook installed regularly on each bracket, then I (carefully) drilled a hole in each bracket so that I could position the j hook into the stake holders at each corner of my bed. I had to remove the plastic rail caps to position the J hooks closest to the cab and drill a hole in the cap for the bolt to poke through, but I was able to avoid drilling or cutting any body metal in my bed.

Priced right for a good rack. It does look very nice once installed, and works very well so far. I was missing some hardware, and the seller sent them very quickly without hassle. I did not have any problems with the directions, except to say: Short bed/ standard bed are synonymous usually. The directions have you make a choice between Long and short bed.... unless you have a SHORT bed (standard and Long bed will be LONG bed in the directions). It does not specify sizes. So, Ill help you out. The standard short bed, sometimes simply called the standard bed, is by far the most popular type of pickup truck bed. Compact truck beds are generally about 5 ft (1.5 m) long and full-size beds are generally 6.5 ft. Long. Mine is 5'5" and was considered LONG bed in the directions. So, unless you have a true SHORT bed (less than 5'). choose long bed method in the directions, or you will have to take several pieces apart to fix the problem when you try to install on the truck. Install on the ground, and leave all bolts finger tight. Have an assistant hold the rack in place while you bolt the feet, and the arms/after squaring to make the job easy. I had NO problem (other than the short/long bed issue mentioned). Worth the price. I tested with a 700lb load on the interstate trip for an hour and a half (70 mph... or better) , and it DID the job wonderfully. There is road noise as othesr have mentioned.. but that is expected. I saw a review where someone liked to use the word goofy... well, he is goofy... just ignore him. Perfectly fine rack, especially for the price. You could spend a few thousand and get a better one... but hey.. that would be goofy. ;)UPDATE: Rust Warning. I should have listened to others, and painted the rack immediately before installation. It rusted almost immediately. within a month I have several (and I DO mean SEVERAL) spots of rust beginning. I will be sanding/primer and painting asap. Still a good bargain I think!Points you should be retaining from all of the reviews:1. Paint it!2. Loud road noise (you will lose gas mileage) buy an air dam to mitigate if you like.3. You probably have a long bed (for the sake of install directions directions) read above.4. You should have an assistant to set it up (final step from ground to truck bed is a must- at least).5. It is still a great deal. It works well. Just be mindful of the points listed. They are all 100% true.
