These seem like just what I need to cut the wire on my braces if I leave the dentist without noticing the wire was left too long (or if it becomes too long between visits). They do not cut absolutely flush but they aren't meant to. The amount of wire left after cutting will depend on getting the cutters at the right angle. in my testing, they left just about 1mm of wire, which is generally as good as you can hope for and can easily be covered with orthodontic wax. The excess wire will be held by the cutters so you shouldn't have to worry about it getting lost in your mouth. You will want to be careful because if you break the bracket off your tooth you'll be heading to the dentist to have it reattached and if it's your fault, you're going to pay for that (my dentist did that once but since he did it, he didn't charge me).

When I read that these had a “mini head,” I thought they’d be ideal for cutting the end wire of my son’s braces. They were poking into his cheeks and causing him misery.These are blunt and big and useless. They did not cut anything.

I bought them to trim a wire on my son's braces that was poking his cheek. These are not wire cutters. At best they are wire manglers.Not recommended at all.

Unfortunately these could not reach the wire in the back of my mouth the way I needed them to. I could see them working for some people if the angle was right. I will keep them for future needs, as those wires are always a pain.

This is a very heavy duty pair of pliers. They were great for reaching the very back of my wire. I was afraid to break a bracket but now that I have the hang of it, I don’t have to wait weeks to drive to the orthodontist!

I must admit, after reading the mixed reviews I was a bit skeptical on ordering these orthodontic wire cutters.. but like everyone else seeking relief from wires cutting through your cheeks I pulled the plug and hoped for the best.The tool arrived today, after sanitizing it, and within a minute, I cut that pesky wire with no issues.I would definitely recommend using these if you’re looking for a reliable orthodontic cutters at an affordable price.
