  • 🐯 ALL-IN-ONE SOLUTION: Other lead test kits require you to add vinegar or other chemicals. It will greatly affect your test results. Not anlab. Our lead test swabs accurately add all ingredients to the cotton swab. Just snap the tip and test.
  • 🦁 EASY TO USE: Snap the tip to activate. The liquid in the neck flows to the white cotton tip on the other end and will turn into light yellow color. Use the yellow tip to wipe the area you want to test for 30 seconds. The tip will turn a shade of pink/purple if the lead is detected.
  • 🦊 30-SECOND RESULTS: Avoid lead exposure! anlab lead testing swabs provide accurate results in as fast as 30 seconds.
  • 🐮 40 SWABS INCLUDED: Each package contains 40 non-toxic ready-to-go test swabs, more than most comparable kits. Tip: A slight vinegar smell after activating the cotton swab is a normal phenomenon.
  • 🐶 MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS: The anlab lead test kit is most often used to test for lead on painted surfaces. But, with the exception of ceramics, it can also be used on other surfaces, including antiques, toys, woodwork, jewelry, bathtub glazes, and plumbing.

The kit is very easy to use. Each testing piece is covered in plastic individually. The smell is strong when it reacts but that’s normal when you do some chemical reactions, so don’t understand how people expect it to be odorless while reacting..the smell goes away in 20 minutes or so.

Solder plug on bottom of thermos showed vivid purple, and non-rohs electronics solder showed weak purple, more or less as expected. Other swabs were negative. I have no clue what the sensitivity is.

Haven't confirmed if this actually detects lead because (fortunately) everything I've tested has been negative. However, the chemical smell is intense - this needs to be used outdoors or with serious ventilation. The odor lingers for about 24 hours in any room where you open it.Pros:Easy to useQuick resultsComprehensive kitCons:Very strong chemical smellCan't verify accuracySmell lingers for a dayTips: Open windows, use fans, or test outside. Don't open this in your bedroom unless you enjoy sleeping in what smells like a chemistry lab.

The product is easy to use, but I encountered a few issues. The first swab remained white instead of turning yellow after coming into contact with the test solution. Two of the new swabs didn’t have a pink tip. The fourth swab did change from white to yellow after contact with the test solution, but now I’m unsure if I can rely on the negative test result.

So critical to keep in your homes these days. I didn’t think I’d find any lead around my house, but sure enough some of my antique tea cups from the thrift store tested positive for lead! This kit was easy to use, and seemed accurate after multiple tests. This is a great value if you’re looking to make your house a safer place for you and your family. I’m glad these kits exist!

I bought these for my daughter. She’s started thrifting trying to expand on dinner/kitchenware she was left to her.

This kit seems easy enough to use. You activate the Q-tip-like swab then rub one tip on the object to be tested. I used a bit of solder as a control and it did show up faintly pink. (It was a pretty small sample.). I cannot say what the sensitivity of the test is for something with low levels of lead. Note that the box states it does NOT work on ceramics, which is a reason many might buy it. Also note that you activate by “snapping” the tip to release the reagent. You really need to snap it WITHIN the top swab, not lower down at the neck where you would think. So easy to use, good value (lots of tests in the kit). Doesn’t work on ceramic. Uncertain how sensitive it is.

These had a really quick response. Make sure you follow directions, but they did work! I found out some of my thrifted plates (that I've been afraid to use), so indeed have lead on them. So they will remain display only.I'm also glad I have these to double check my kids drink wear, as I've bought some on Amazon that were recalled for lead in the past. And if prefer not to have to worry about that in the future.Good price at less than 50 cents a piece, and they worked, and we're easy to see and read results.

We rent a house that was built in the early 1900s. There is a closet in the attic that has chipping paint. The rest of the house has been painted many times over the years. When I tested the main walls of the house there was no color change. When I tested the attic closet walls it turned dark red right away.I convinced my bf not to store his stuff in that closet I’m really glad I tested. Will ask landlord to take care of cleaning it out and repaint to sealThe end you have to break to release the testing fluid to the other end can be a little hard to snap open. But if you hold a handkerchief or some kind of cotton type fabric between your hand and tip it is super easy
