It's a simple bright light of a single cool color. The included manual and spec sheet is rather incomplete and requires a magnifier to read. On the Anker web site there is no mention go this product and Anker customer service cannot provide help or a pdf with a complete manual.

Device worked exactly as I wanted. You plug it in. Select flash on the camera app and it fires (I saw a review that said it made both the phone and the separate flash but that’s not the case, at least with the iPhone 13)Charges super quick. Works for a long time. Really bright. Easy to bring with you.Honestly I recommend it to anyone that wants to make their nighttime pictures better. This and the wide lens give you a perfect indie sleaze look too. 🤷🏻♂️

Made in China for less than a third of the cost, yet hyped up and packaged as technomarvel. Buy it if you’re desperate - leave it until sales day if you’re not.

Très satisfait de mon achat pour prendre des photos en basse luminosité sans problème de qualité. Je recommande ce flash pour les amateurs de belles photos.

Preordered this before it came out. Was excited about it until i actually got it...Ridiculously flawed and would skip for anyone looking to get better shots utilizing the iPhone 11 Pro’s relatively exceptional camera. They have marketing that includes a bracket to use this flash but they don’t offer one. They show people holding it for selfies mainly because that might be the only real way to use it. Even then you don’t really need extra light for selfies as the limited length wouldnt help enough to warrant looking like the dbag youd for sure look like taking a selfie with an external strobe. The device connects on the same side as the cameras “shutter” button and yet they don’t give you enough cord length to actually use it well off camera. It limits your ability to maneuver the light and properly utilize it like an off camera ttl strobe its portrayed as in all the marketing. The cord has to be longer because you have to maneuver it with your non shutter hand and it is just absolutely unusable for anyone wanting legit non selfie use out of this.Trying to return it I’m having to pay for shipping and I guess that’s understandable if you also understand that they’re deliberately selling you a flawed product. It is absolutely intentional to me that Anker made this thing not very useful. Carrying this around is not worth the extremely limited marginal difference it makes. Check out Lume Cube, it has its own disadvantages as well but if you’re looking to shot better lit non-selfie phone photos, it’s way better to actually utilize for that purpose. Anker almost had it, but they robbed us of an actually good, usable product for actual shooters.

Love it ..for outdoor portraits or night shots it allows you to add fill to the environment with continuous light or flash optionInside you can bounce off walls or ceilings a take contrast down of overall shot ..cover a wider area with a smoother even balance Dislikes or upgrades or thought for generation 2 Color temp is ice cold ..and considering that it is a fixed color temp and the latest generation iphones can adjust on the fly theres ..it becomes sort of mental gymnastics to ..for an old photographer to know how to know what is going to work for every situation out of the box ..it’s not manually a fix you can just stick in a 1/2 CTO filter in the flash and get what you would expect to happen ..depending on how much of the flash from the camera or the add on flash is really illuminating the shot ..it also gets trickier in the highlights ..with the add on changing there first ..as would be normal ....but it takes a bit of fill flash colour experience to readily know that .. if you can just play with overall colour of image in one temp ..shift ..its not an issue ..if the highlights go ice cold in a warm scene it is visually distracting and bothers me ..Yes you can shift the highlight independently of mids and shadows temp after the fact ..but it means A knowing how to do that ..and time and steps I am being very critical of this little device ..for its size and cost these are probably non issues ..and i love it for what it can do But to have the same multi color temp seperate flashes to balance on lates t iphones and ipads going to be standard ..being able to use the iphones brain to control a similar set up on the external flash would be if allows access to the hardware or ios photo apps software in any way ..it for generation 2 at a higher price point would I think be a viable project ..and would sell carry needs to be in a hard case ..rather than dumped in a backpack as the power switch can be inadvertently activated Have mine in a 35 mm plastic slide box from Duggal ..god im old

This product works very well with the iPhone Pro Max, both in flash and continuous light modes, as per directions.4 stars were given instead of 5, because this product does not work with the Apple smart battery case for the Pro Max.When you plug into the smart battery lighting port “Accessory Not Supported” is displayed.Neither the software camera button nor the physical button on the smart battery case will fire the Anker Flash, but if you turn on the continuous light on the Anker-no problems with either button.Maybe a future software/hardware update from Apple/Anker?Otherwise a handy and useful unit.

I take a lot of photos and the built in iPhone flash leaves a bit to be desired. So when I seen Anker was offering a flash I had to get one. Anker has always been my go to for power packs and multi chargers so I knew the quality would be good and I’m not disappointed. This little light works great! Just plug it into your iPhone and set the flash to auto or on and it works just as if it has came with the phone. You can also press the power button on top to turn it on at any time to use as a fill light for video or even for your DLSR. It also has a lighting plug on it for snarfing so you can just use the same cable as your phone which is convenient not having to find a different cane to charge it like most accessories these days. Also has the standard 1/4” thred on the bottom to work with tripods or other mounts
