I have an older rescue horse who has navicular pretty bad. This stuff works like a charm. We used to use Butte. Butte is hard on the liver. We tried this instead which was a Dr. recommendation and was happily surprised!

Good product, however I can get it for $10 cheaper from a local feed store. Disappointed on the price of this product through this way.

This stuff is awesome, been taking it for years! The only reason it's "not for human consumption" is because it hasn't been quantified/qualified by a lab, which costs more money (Labradors are more capable than people think...).If you want to buffer it, just dissolve twice as much of either sodium or potassium bicarbonate in distilled water, then add the aspirin. I use 1/2 teaspoon of potassium bicarbonate to 1/4 teaspoon aspirin. The reaction takes about 10 minutes, and you're good to go.The reason I use potassium bicarbonate is to encourage some of the resulting compound to enter the cells where the aspirin can kill viruses (other countries are aware of this, but the US doesn't disseminate it).

Important to take, milligram for milligram, the same amount of (preferably powdered) vitamin c as you take of this or any aspirin. Aspirin completely deactivates vitamin c which is a necessity for protecting your stomach lining from the corrosive effect of aspirin. I can take as much as a gram of Aniprin powder with a gram of vit c and avoid a stomach ache. So, I avoid the vitamin c depletion which can actually cause scurvy in regular aspirin takers who fail to supplement with vitamin c. I hope doing this also protects against the internal bleeding which accompanies aspirin usage, in any dose, though I don't know if it will. Might want to take occult blood stool tests if taking aspirin with any regularity. I've found Aniprin to be the most effective aspirin I've ever used. It's only sold for animal usage officially, so you might want to seriously consider that fact before using it for human consumption.

This product is for horses, only. Or is it? I bought this for my arthritic horse. Loading dose for an 1100lb horse is two full scoops plus an extra little scoop if the pain is really bad (dosage per my vet for my 20yo QH.) After 2 weeks, she is on two large scoops (scoop included). We have since switched to Equioxx (prescription from my vet), but this product did make her feel better right from the first dose. Having extra leftover, I didn't want to waste it. I read reviews that this is a great pain reliever for humans. I have moderate arthritis and Aleve, Advil, Tylenol, etc. weren't helping anymore. I started taking 1/8 tsp. in the morning. I noticed significant relief in an hour that continued for several more hours. After 2 weeks, I started taking 1/8 tsp at dinner or bedtime, too. My arthritic knees are at least 40-50% better. Back pain is reduced. Energy has increased because of the pain relief. Improvement has been gradual and steady. I'm not stating you will have a miraculous transformation taking this stuff but, I am noticing enough improvement that this is something I plan to take for a long time to come.
