My Animas pairs up to a Sage 4Wt and I go nymphing. Smooth...that's the best word for Ross Reels...whether pulling line for a cast or fighting the monster you've dreamed of with flawless drag, you can't go wrong with Ross. I own two and I know there's a quality reel under my rod when I fish the Ross.

I'm almost afraid to use this reel it's so nice but it is so smooth and looks so good. Love that it's made in Colorado, where I get to use it everyday.

I bought this in the 4-5 weight size for use on my lightweight #4 weight rod. Just used it in Montana and the guides I went fishing with were amazed at how light it is! Probably best paired with an ultra lightweight rod. It's a beautiful reel and the only constraint is that with a WF floating flyline, there wasn't much room for backing on the 4-5 weight model. I've owned other Ross reels and their customer service is great- sent one older reel in to be fixed and it was minimal cost and quick turnaround.
