Our Story

I, Larry Kauffman, along with my family, currently live in the beautiful hills of Southeast Ohio. We started Amish Toy Box in 2010 as a hobby and an opportunity for a small side income and by 2015 it had blossomed into a full-time job. Bethann, my wife, is kept busy at home being a full-time mother. We have 6 children who love to play with wooden toys that are blemished or damaged, and they enjoy "helping" Daddy ship out orders.

As a family, and in our business, our goal is always to treat others the way we would like to be treated. We hope that by providing quality toys and games to you, we can bring simple, family-oriented fun to your family.

This is a heavy duty, high quality croquet set that will last for many years. Comes with a nice carry bag. It is solid wood but it is very heavy to carry around.

It's a little heavier than I thought it would be, as well as a little more workmanlike than the Deluxe set -- go figure. We set it up, enjoyed playing, but it was a bit cumbersome to store.

Two years in and still playing. Very sturdy. Had cheap ones in the past and this one is definitely worth the price. Highly recommend. However, don’t run over a wicket with the lawnmower. So strong it still didn’t fly apart though.

I went out of my way to find an all-wood set in an effort to avoid plastic parts, and thought that the high price on this set - and the lack of mention of the plastic balls in the description - meant that I had found what I wanted. The balls are plastic, and they have a small seam from being formed. That being said, the rest of the set is built solidly, and I am looking forward to playing with it...hopefully for years to come!

Wooden parts are all sturdy, pretty & well crafted. The wickets also well made. Do not need to remove handles from mallet heads to fit in well made zipper bag. The balls are not wooden, and although they play well, are of a molded plastic w extruded edges of plastic not trimmed off. All in all a great set. I played family croquet with my inexpensive set for too many years, I should have bought this fun to play with set long ago!

I received this set as a Christmas present because our old set of 10 years finally fell apart. The first noticeable feature of this set is how solid the mallets are. It's like playing a different game. We didn't get to use the set until summer because of weather and unfortunately the first time playing, the red mallet rivet broke which would then lead to the mallet head not staying attached.Going to the company website I submitted a claim and waited a week with no response. I then contacted the company and left a voicemail. Within the same day they contacted me back, apologized for the delay, and sent me a new red mallet handle and I received it within two days! Excellent.Even though it is a solid price tag; with a 5 year warranty and good customer service, it is a solid set. I don't normally leave product reviews but this one merited it.

I had to pay extra duties and taxes, which were a lot. The balls are all marked up and look used and the handles don’t fit easily into the mallets and the paint on the handles is smudged and uneven. I’m very disappointed, I was expecting so much better for the price.

High quality product, huge upgrade from the Franklin Croquet set. Very thoughtfully designed carrying bag to transport without disassembly, a separate small bag for balls and wickets. Have played 20 plus games in the last week of ownership. The 8 x 11 rule sheet could be laminated would help with durability.Lacking the high quality expectations one has from an Amish made product, see photos. For the price I would have expected to see clear grain wood Which I know is a high expectation and increases costs But it's all the little things that add up to only getting a 4 star review instead of 5.

I am writing an update: The company contacted me when they saw my first review and they immediately sent me a new mallet head. It is perfect and I am very happy. I can highly recommend this beautiful croquet set!!When I opened the box I carefully inspected each piece and one of the mallet heads had a chip and a split. This split will in a short time split further and a larger chip will form. So I had to return the set. To be truthful I would not have returned the entire set if there was a way offered to just have the mallet head replaced. The set itself seems to be a nice heavy and well made croquet set. The inconvenience of having to return the entire set instead of just being able to receive a mallet head is why I am giving this two stars.
