It's a pizza peel and it slid the pizza into the oven and extracted it flawlessly. Seems sturdy and well put together. It should last longer than I will.

We purchased an 18” pizza oven with a 16” pizza stone and this peel works perfectly. We wanted a peel large enough to hold an XL pizza and this works perfectly. It’s a great peel at the best price that I could find.

This is my second pizza peel. The first one (a different brand) is too wide to fit my small, portable pizza oven. The oven works great- it sits on top of a barbecue grill and quickly reaches 700 degrees! But it's narrower than a standard family size pizza, and also a standard pizza peel! I couldn't get a small pizza into the hot oven until I got this utensil! I had to use two pancake turners, which didn't work and made a mess. This works perfectly. The pizzas slide on and off easily without sticking and the handle never gets hot. The blade is strong and doesn't flex with the weight of the pizza. If you need a smaller than normal size peel, get this one!

This worked perfectly for me. As others have mentioned, make sure you use ample amounts of cornmeal or semolina flour or similar between the dough and peel to make sure the dough won't stick. I make thin crust pizzas (~14+" dia.) and cook directly on a pizza stone to get a crispy crust, so I assemble them right on the peel. Note: If it doesn't move on the peel when you're done assembling the raw pizza, use a spatula or something to lift up the crust to sneak more cornmeal below the dough until it moves freely. (If not, you'll be cussing, as it will NOT come off in the oven either. The TOPPINGS will, but the dough will not). Getting the baked pizzas back out of the oven with this is easy too...no need for a wooden peel to remove finished pizzas, just keep the peel level, and all will be well. No flex on this peel, and no gripes from me about sharp edges...This is well made.

I only bought this oversized pizza peel because the price was only $13.14 (a return). I'll need to shorten the handle so I don't catch it on the table in front of the oven, but for that price I couldn't go wrong. I have not used it yet, so my review is does not speak to the utility or longevity of the item. It appears to be good quality and with proper maintenance (and finding somewhere to store it when not use, because it's a big item, even after I shorten the handle, lol.) I will treat with butcher block oil before using, as suggested by another reviewer.

It's a bit narrow and have to rely on a pan to get my pizza into the outdoor pizza oven. It's good for turning pizzas and taking them out when the dough is baked and firm. Overall happy with it for the price.

I purchased this item for a slightly different purpose. I use it when I am BBQing pork shoulders, hams, and/or Boston butts. When BBQing a cooker full of pork it can be difficult sometimes to get under that piece of meat and turn it over or just remove it from the cooker. This fit the bill nicely. My first worry was that it would be flimsily and not hold the weight of the meat that I was picking up. Not going to be a problem.I was very pleased with the construction of this from end to end. I deal with sheet metal of all different types on a daily basis. I found this to be a good sturdy piece of metal in fact it is perfect for what I need it for. This pizza peel can very easily pick up the heaviest of meats that I can possibly throw at it.My other worry would be where the metal meets the wood and would that be a weak point or not. Not! This is put together nicely and I believe it will last me for a long time to come.My overall opinion is that if you want this to be a great long lasting pizza peel then this is the one for you and it’s at a great price. I also think that this is perfect for whatever you can come up with. I will be buying another one or four for all of my many needs.Yes, I did. I paid full price for this item. And you receive my opinion on how I feel about the product after I’ve fully tested it. This I enjoy doing and I hope that I’ve helped someone come to informed purchasing decision. I am not affiliated with the seller, the manufacturer or Amazon.

How did I live without this? Seriously. I love this thing. I recently got on a homemade pizza kick. A friend gave me a pizza stone, and I quickly rediscovered what a pain in the pants it was to get pizza onto the stone and retrieve it later. A big part of why I had quit making homemade pizza in the first place. Enter the American Metalcraft pizza peel.I love the handle options available. This one is 27.85", end to end, which is a great length for me and my home kitchen. Long enough to preserve the hair on my forearms, but sort enough that I am not crashing into stuff with it. I store mine between two metal shelving units in my pantry. Just stand it up in there. You could also drill a hole in the handle, if you were so inclined, and hang it up that way. It is large enough that you probably want to consider how you will store it before deciding on the right length for you. I wouldn't mind having a little bit longer one at some point, too.One of the reasons I bought this one is that I also would like to start baking bread at some point. After doing some research on metal versus wood, length, etc, this model had the best of the features I wanted. I was a little torn about metal versus wood, but the durability and ease of care was the deciding factor for me.I think this is a great product and a great value and I am delighted with it. In fact, I do Pizza Night about once a week now because this makes things so much easier and fun.
