poor quality and no customer support. 1 out of 4 worked without defect.

I have an outdoor gas light on my front walk that has been in place for decades, and which I dearly love for its warm ambiance. Over the years, replacement mantles have become harder to find, and much more expensive. I have been able to depend on American Mantle to provide highest quality mantles at a fair and reasonable price, and with quick delivery. May their tribe increase!

I have an old gaslight in front of my circa 1818 townhouse. I have always bought mantles from a company in Pittsburgh and found outit has now gone out of business. So for the first time, I bought mantles from this company and really like them and not only that, found them easy to install myself. I will be reordering when necessary.

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FIRST !!! I can't believe I did it again and lit the mantle with the gas on, DON'T ! I replace my mantle every few years and forgot that the gas has to be off before you light it up THEN turn the gas on. Oh well for 10 bucks I'll get another and do it right this time :) Made in INDIA

Mantle is better than others I have used in my upright gas lamp. It is nice to be able to find this hard to find item. Thanks.

The mantle arrived very promptly, but was apparently defective, it immediately burned up & most of it disintegrated as soon as it was lit. After much back & forth with the American Mantle Co.- sending a required photo of the mantle, the order number & several e- mails- I was informed I actually didn't buy it from them but from a company called "Home & Life", or something like that, and so they were not responsible. I looked again at the website I ordered this from, and while that name was somewhere at the bottom of the printing; it certainly looked to be the American Mantle Company's website. If it weren't, it would seem to be that they would be upset if someone else was selling their products in a misleading way so that customers thought they were dealing with American Mantle. This didn't seem to bother the representative I communicated with at all. There was no contact information for the supposed other company, and I never even found a way to reach them at all. So, I couldn't request a refund or replacement, and basically had to write this off as a total waste of money.
