Product Description

The principal benefit of this glue-joint bit is that the glue seam is far less evident on the bevels of raised panels. Equally important, setup is fast. Cut one Half of each joint with the bit at any height. Simply raise or lower the bit 3/32" Before cutting The mates. As with all glue-joint bits, the Cutter profile expands the edge-to-edge glue surface, but more importantly, produces the precise surface alignment that's essential for fast glueups. For best results use in a router table., #45790, diameter (D) 1-3/8, angle (a°) 80°, cutting Height (B) 1-37/64, shank (D) 1/2, overall length (L) 3-D/16, carbide Tipped V joint 80 deg X 1-3/8 dia x 1-37/64 x 1/2 inch Shank

From the Manufacturer

Since 1972, Amana Tool has been producing router bits and has become the global leader in its field. In fact, the company was the first manufacturer to produce router bits according to the Holz BG German standard for safety and quality. This standard contains rules that determine the structure and quality of the tool's material in order to create the safest environment for the user. From its beginning, Amana Tool has always used the highest quality materials, and its tools are produced using unique technologies, a majority of which were developed and built by the company's engineers following decades of testing and experience. For example, Amana Tool uses carbon alloy steel for its router bits that contains vanadium particles. This improves the structural integrity of the steel and prevents corrosion and defects in the internal structure of the material that can lead to cracks and breaks. High-tech machinery processes the carbon alloy steel to manufacture the router bodies in a single clamping. This yields router bits with superior balance, centricity, precision and symmetry. The principal benefit of this glue-joint is that the glue seam is far less evident on the bevels of raised panels. Equally important, setup is fast. Cut one half of each joint with the bit at any height.

Perfect edge glue up alignment on wide panel. Just be sure to use a vertical feather board to keep it flat other router table.

This bit is good for max 1-1/4 thickness stock. It's cut length is too short for 1-1/2 joints. It take 2 passes to do 1-1/2 (or larger) joints. The bit cuts aggressively and is grabby, so much so that I would avoid using in shaper. I use mine on a very heavy CNC Router.

Listed as used but really just shop worn from hanging on a retail shelf too long. It should prove to be a well respected cutter in my arsenal of bits.
