Movable bar was a joke. Could not move it without it going crooked. The parts on the back to keep at an angle did not work. Kept sliding off the table.

Like everything else Alvin makes, this is a top quality board. The straightedge is easy to adjust, and stays where you put it. I'm so happy that Alvin is still in business!

I love it! I’m a design student and use it for drawing floor plans, perspective drawings, etc. I only use it st home, but it’s portability is perfect for on the go also. It’s the perfect size and works well. I highly recommend.

Out of the box ready to use. Straight-edge moves smoothly and I don't need to tighten it when drawing, and that saves time and effort, but I do press down on it as you would with a T-square or angle while drawing. The surface is smooth so you can place the paper directly on the board without the need of a pad. Lifting up the straight-edge when moving it up and down is not anything I think about. I want the cleanest drawings possible.

So, this isn't the most amazing piece of equipment on the market. I'd rather have a nice sturdy, glides super smooth, big drafting table with tons of surface area, but as an architectural design student, I lack the space and $$$. So,this is what I went with and I have to say it's pretty awesome. It fits perfectly on my round kitchen table and provides a nice solid surface to draw on. The parallel rule can be a little finicky from the box but a few minor adjustments and it works like a charm. Be patient. The angle isn't as steep as I would prefer but it's a minor "con". It actually forces me to stand up during my project which is better for my circulation anyways. The handle is great. I have to put it up each and every night since I have kids and they ruin everything. A nice sturdy handle to transport it from room to room is wonderful.I had a small issue with the wire coming off one of the roller tracks, but I tightened the screws attached to the rollers and haven't had an issue since. So, like I said before, a few minor adjustments out of the box and all is well.Overall, I'm very pleased. Before I got this I was using a drawing board I used in art school. It was very time consuming trying to get straight lines and not to mention my back hurt from hunching over the board. I bit the bullet and bought this and even with the small incline, it makes a world of difference when spending hours and hours on a drawing. The parallel bar saves a ton of time and frustration. No, it's not the greatest thing ever and I look forward to getting a real drafting table when I grow up, but this has definitely been worth the purchase.

I purchased this portable drafting board for a architecture drafting class. The straight edge was very easy to adjust, and rarely caught on my drafting paper. Due to the handle and folding legs, the board is very easy to move from room to room. I would definitely recommend this to another looking for a quality drafting board.

I bought this item for college since I am studying architecture, every architecture student should have one of these. It works very well, shipped within the expected time. The only two minor problems I see is that the table gets dirty easily, but this is true for all drafting tables. It's very easy to clean, I find that clorox wipes work very well. But a damp cloth will work well too. The other thing is that the straightedge does not have measurements on it, but most drafting tables don't either. All in all, it's a very necessary product for architecture students, I can't draw without it now.
