I really worry about losing the battery cover door when changing batteries or memory cards. One slip of the fingers, and off goes the cover on an endless journey that will be without me. With this battery cover, I have a spare - the old door can go on its merry journey and I can get back to filming. Fits great and looks like the original.

This is basically exactly identical to the OEM GoPro door. At a casual glance, I couldn't find any difference in material or components. They weighed in the same at 12 g. This is not a bad thing, especially with the price pushing $30 owing to the use of aluminum. The aluminum is important for rigidity and heat dissipation so I can't complain. As to whether the waterproof claims hold, I can't say as I've never used the unit under water, and I don't ever plan to, at least not without using an external case that doesn't directly test the watertight capability of this lid. In my opinion, it should be more like a last line of defense, because if water enters here, your GoPro is probably dead. If you want an OEM door this is a solid choice, but for a price. I like that it comes with a plastic case so it's less likely to get lost.
