Very nice piece of hardware and the pulleys are low friction. I can see where you could easily use if for windsurfing. I would not go bigger than 1/8" rope or wire rope. I was thinking that I would use it to raise and lower a sail shade and it could work for a temporary set up. I like the unique shape, it has a nice hook incorporated where you would normally see a more bulky configuration. It would easily fit in your pocket if you used it for windsurfing.
