I love the backing on this ruler, as it helps keep the ruler from slipping! The guard for protecting your fingers was a little lower than expected, but it really helps maintain a straight cut with an x-acto knife and keep my fingers away from the blade!

Sturdy and doesn't slip. The finger groove really does make it easier to hold in place, which is cleverly directly against the raised guard. Simple, well designed.
