I have an older pair of Altra shoes. They are comfortable but needed to be replaced. These feel great from day 1! I know these will be great for doing a lot of walking!

I have very narrow feet, but yet these shoes are so tight around my foot, despite the toe room (which was very nice) that they are unwearable. I did everything I could to stretch out the middle part of the shoes since heel and toe fit fine, but to no avail. Very disappointing. It would make my feet go numb from the pressure. However, the seller was great!

My mom loves this brand of shoes and has several in a similar style. I had to return the original pair, because the sizing was so different. She went up a whole size from her others to fit comfortably. She also said there is a seam in these in a different place, which makes them fit tighter, so she has to work the laces looser and wear thin socks. Otherwise she really likes them, but doesn't love them as much as the other style. The colors are great and look as advertised.

Origional review 3 stars - update at end.These are much tighter at the forefoot and over the arch than the superior 5. I've removed the insoles and wore very thin socks for my first 20 miles of runs. I use Caterpy laces and they are are in so loose I am at the end of the nubs. I was able to wear my Balega running socks today and there were just snug. Hopefully with a few more miles I can put the insoles back in and eventually adjust my laces for my comfort level. You can see in the picture how loose the laces are, its the tight 'burrito' tounge holding the foot so snug. You can also see how the inside edge of my forefoot goes over the inside edge of the shoe as well. I wish I had kept my 5s to photo the comparison in the shoe model, but I tossed them the day these arrived, not expecting such a drastic change in the fit of the shoe. If they stretch some more, I can make them work. Hopefully the superior 7 will be a better fit.Update - dropped from 3 stars to 2 stars. The shoes never loosened any more. I had to switch to super thin socks because my others were too tight once I started running. Sometimes the top of my right foot hurts after days I run more than 5 miles.There is NO protection from rocks. I don't know where the designers run trails, but I run on gravel country roads and have gotten so many bruises on the bottom of my feet from sharp rocks. I weigh 135lbs and I'm not a heavy plodded, but dang, those rocks hurt like I've never experienced with the previous models. If the next version is like this version, I will be returning them and moving to a different brand. For now, I'm going to try to find a pair of superior 5.

I bought these for my 10 yr old who has a bunion that formed a few years ago (!!). We have been working on foot exercises and being careful about how shoes fit to try to get her foot to heal and since she has been wearing these this summer (or going barefoot), we are finally starting to see some improvement. And she looks super cute in them!

I have flat feet but I don’t qualify as needing wide footbeds. Altras usually work on me as they have the right comfort in my trail running shoes & the toe box allows me to feel less cramped. However, these felt great on my toes but the middle of my foot are was tight & pushed out the lace and tongue area. Other than that they’re lightweight, great to withstand most elements (minus the white bottoms - those get dirty quickly). All around great shoe just not for those with flat feet than can cause you to be a little wider in the center foot area.

I've run in altras for years, I dont know what's changed, but the toe box is really "short" and feels tight, which is the opposite of the purpose of this brand. The toe box is wide, but the depth is so short, it felt tight, and I have a normal foot pattern. I noticed this in another model i recently purchased as well.

Las zapatillas son muy bonitas pero pedí un número más y aún así me quedaban enanas, no se que número habrá que pedir...dos?? Las cogí porque tienen puntera ancha, y pensé que serían más flexibles pero no, son duras, duras, aunque me hubieran estado bien de tamaño tampoco me las hubiera quedado.

Toller Laufschuh.Passt in der normalen Größe,wie angegossen.Stabilisiert gut den Mittelfuß und die Zehen haben den Platz den sie brauchen.Der Fuß kann perfekt arbeiten.Die Sohle ist prima im Gelände.Nicht zu dick und nicht zu dünn um auch auf steinigem Untergrund richtig laufen zu können.Zudem sieht er noch richtig ansprechend aus.Kann den Schuh sehr empfehlen.

I love these shoes. They are alittle snug around the toe area, so can't wear for extended period. I bought them because I work in the medical field, I love them but can only wear them if going out for a short time. I plan on ordering another pair but will go up 1/2 size.

I'm really quite disappointed with the size discrepancy with these. I have 5 other Altra trainers which I love, all size 6. So I bought these in size 6 but they were horribly uncomfortably tight so I returned them, for which I have to pay the shipping because they come from Spain?! Actually I sent them 5 days ago, but still no notification on this refund. But anyway, I then ordered a half size larger for a higher price and now that they've arrived, they are also SO tight. And the sole feels strange, like there are weird mounds pressing into unusual parts of the sole of my foot (like the outer edge of my foot near the heel) rather than being even pressure distribution. I don't want to pay to return a second time, but I'm honestly not sure I can bear to wear these. I have previously loved my Altra trainers, apart from the very fast wearing down of the soles. They do not endure for long before the bottoms look stripped bare.
