Brass compression rings secure eyepiece without damaging the barrel's finish.
The aluminum housing is finished with an anodized hard coat for enhanced scratch and corrosion resistance.
The safety groove design can provide a more stable connection and avoid falling off due to unstable connection.
Two knurled set screw grips can fix the 2" eyepiece and 1.25" eyepiece on the barlow lens respectively.
A 2" to 1.25" adapter is included: Allows the use of both 2" and 1.25" eyepieces.

The full multicoated optical path of 4-element improves the color fidelity and transmit a view of that‘s flat from center to edge. Images are sharper. The smart four-lens design eliminates most of the chromatic aberrations that show up with Barlow lenses having fewer components.
Easy to Install For More Focal Length
You only need to install your 2" 2.5X Barlow lens between the eyepiece and the telescope to get 2.5 times the magnification and 2.5 times the focal length of the telescope. So you don’t need more eyepieces, or a longer focal length telescope.

At least what I see this stays clear out to field view edges on my 8" dobsonian which is slower f5.9 for viewing not photos.

Seems to give good results using an eyepiece but seeing fairly serious chromatic aberration when used for astrophotography. I think the issue is droop in the image train due to multiple extensions required to reach focus. Likely more of an issue with the focuser than the Barlow but still testing.

This Barlow works wonderfully! I have the Tele Vue 2x "Big Barlow" which is several times more expensive, and I use this Alstar barlow more. It does need front focus extender tubes to work properly, and in my case I need ~50mm of back focus for the astrocam. I do mostly planetary imaging, and this has allowed me to capture stunning images of the 2 gas giants. Hope this helps, and keep looking up!
