Threads on both ends are SAE and it works fine. However, the "nut" portion is metric 14mm. Used to replace the old one on the bottom of the oil filter cannister on a 1952 Ford 8n tractor. Old was 1/2 inch. It corrected my issue, however now going forward it may cause confusion. Luckly it is not a high failure rate item.
