I purchased this product from Amazon Warehouse in “very good” condition for $15.00. It’s worth $15. It is absolutely not worth the full price of $75.The Bad:The welds on both AN fittings compromised the lowest threads. This doesn’t inhibit full function and getting a good seal but its sloppy craftsmanship. The hole drilled in the side for the -6an fitting was not properly deburred and had metal shavings that needed to be removed prior to using this as a power steering reservoir. The consequences of not removing these metal shavings would likely be pump failure or other damage to the system. The cap is not vented. A power steering reservoir needs a vented cap to help prevent aeration of the fluid. The tig weld on the -6an fitting is mediocre. Although it’s unlikely to experience high pressure, the penetration observered from the inside is incomplete. Gas coverage could have been better and the bead on the outside has a crater where the welder stopped the weld. I doubt it will effect the function of the part but I’d expect more from something valued at $75.The Good:The “baffled” -6an inlet is functional. It has two smaller diameter holes that redirect the fluid to the sides, towards the walls of the cylinder. The inlet is located slightly lower than the pictured reservoir, which is good to help prevent aeration.Aside from the -6an fitting, all of the other welds are of good quality. At $15, if you’re willing to address the shortcomings, it’s a good deal. At $75, you’re better off spending more in a higher quality product from another company such as KRC.
