I added a bit of foam rubber weatherstripping to the inside of these and clamped them to my stock FJ roof rack. There's no movement at all, and two of them are easily supporting the weight of a 5' Hi-Lift.If you're looking to do he same, add some 3" All-Thread studs, red thread locker, and a couple of aluminum knobs and you'll be all set.

Even though these are the "economy" version (made in China), they are still of decent quality and the hardware that comes with them is OK (though I changed mine to stainless steel socket head bolts due to space constraints and location). I used these brackets in conjunction with some custom brackets made from aluminum angle stock to mount an RX7 oil cooler to the tubular crossmember/core support of another vehicle. The holes on either side of the bracket made it simple to use a bolt through the back as a 'set screw' to keep the brackets (and oil cooler) from rotating. If I was doing it over again or had to make a recommendation for someone working on a similar project I would go with these again.
