Love this kit. Quality is consistent with what I'd expect, which is to say this is not the absolute best set you can purchase, but more of a 7.5-8/10. That aside, the price reflects the quality and I love that it's only metric. Who works on standard/english stuff any more? And the kit has a good range of sizes for what I do most, which is messing around with cars. So taking all of this into account, an easy 5 star purchase.

Good set to have for import vehicles. Never a good time if you strip a bolt hole, but having a helicoil set is definitely a good thing to have when you have one of those bad days. Kit has a good assortment of helicoils with installer tool, as well as the upsized drill bit and taps. Instead of having a thread chaser and a pitch gauge, I wish it had a threadlocker for permanent installation.

This repair kit is very good quality. It had everything you need for a quick repair around the house. My only issue is that the drills aren't cut well so you can easily get metal stuck in your skin.

I was in a hurry and needed to chase some threads to remove RTV before resealing the oil pan on my car's engine. I used an M6 tap to chase the threads instead of using a proper thread chaser like the ones that are inside this kit. I was an idiot and wound up breaking the thin tap in my lower engine block. This would not have happened if I had used a thread chaser. While I'm still trying a few tricks to remove the broken tap without having to pull the engine from my car, this kit has the tools I need to properly drill out the hole and install replacement threads. I really wish I had obtained this kit way before I started the tear down on my car so I wouldn't be in the mess I've found myself in. At least this kit has everything I need to execute a plan B recovery from my stupidity.Also worth mentioning, this kit also has nut bolt chasers, a thread pitch gauge, and a bolt/stud thread cleaner bar. This kit helps you repair thread sizes: M5*0.8, M6*1.0, M8*1.25, M10*1.5, and M12*1.75

I recently stripped out my aluminum valve cover on my car engine. I got this kit to repair the thread. I could've got a single size for the job but decided to get this whole kit for future repairs. For the price of a single helicoil, you might as well spend a little more for this kit. Everything feels well-made. All of the metal pieces are nicely machined with no burrs or sharp edges. I like that it comes with so many pieces. I was able to practice using this kit on an aluminum block before actually using it on my car. It is very easy to use. I did watch a couple of youtube videos to get some tips and pointers from pros. This is a great kit to add to anyones tool collection. It didn't just come with taps. It also came with dies for stripped bolts. If you are a DIYer, mechanic, or anyone else who deals with stipped bolts or holes, I suggest getting a kit like this. I also used some thread glue to make sure it stayed in place.

This is a very nice affordable and complete thread repair kit for M5 M6 M8 M10 M12 holes. Everything is included for each step of the repair except for the drill which you will need to provide. This kit comes with tools as well as consumables. It also comes with a cool little gauge that allows you to measure thread pitch. For the price this is a very excellent value and will provide many lasting repairs.

Using tools like this on your vehicle is like having your personal bits in a vice with someone else at the controls. If one bit cracks, your bad day becomes a living hell played out on some big screen under your vehicle while you lay greasy, bloody, and questioning your life decisions that got you there. This kit is essentially a thread med pack for your vehicle and your own sanity during those situations. At $60, it is reasonably priced or cheaper compared to others or buying them one by one as needed.I had a diff cover that the previous owner had gone ape crap on the bolts and stripped the top two holes. Thankfully, they were the hardest ones to get tools onto. I drilled them cautiously while using thread cutter for lube, then tapped them and used the thread coils to make it possible to seal my diff again. I don’t know what other adventures my thread med pack and I will go on, but I am happy I have it here for the peace of mind next time I strip a bolt at 6pm on a Sunday when everywhere is about to close and I need to be somewhere the next day.
