I have not had the chance to use this for the freeze defense for my raise beds yet, but will be using to help warm up the soil before the last freeze to get a head start on sowing. The material is soft and stretchy (to a degree) and it is just what I expected.

I bought this covering film to protect some of my plants so that they can survive the winter smoothly, such as blueberries, strawberries, ginseng fruit cabbage...etc. After a wave of extremely cold weather, some plants died and some survived, so it is difficult to comment. It is no problem at all for some more cold-resistant plants.

I must admit that I had my doubts, but this freeze covers actually performed as advertised. We had temps in the 20's and FOUR INCHES OF SNOW in the Houston area. I covered some plants with the product and for additional.. insurance... I draped some old Christmas lights around through the plants. They all survived.I cut the cover into 3 pieces and used small metallic stakes ( and some bricks) to hold them in place. Very good value

I bought several different weights of plant covers this season and this is the midweight version at one ounce/yard. I can tell it is barely thicker with less light transparency than the lightest fabric I bought at .74 ounce per square yard but essentially, they both look and feels similar. The fabric is kind of like the old tyvek fabric but more breathable. While the lightweight cloth is good for just laying over the top of crops, when it comes to buying hoops to raise the height, I wanted something sturdier. I wanted a little bit more resistant to intruding rodents (looking at you Mr. Bunny Rabbit) and something to withstand the wind. In the community garden, people who use raised row covers usually cover taller plants to give them some air.... and they are bushier and bigger than those who aren't using row covers due to the heat retention of the fabric. This is good fabric and should do great in my garden.

Bought this for summer sun protection per this part of the product description: "Outdoor Garden Fabric for Summer Sun Pest Protection". Placed over six plants to prevent sun scald and tacked in place with garden staples. Am thankful I didn't cover more plants. Came back after a week away and found this product had completely disintegrated. Bits and pieces of it were everywhere. Removing the remaining shreds on the plants and gathering what I could from the yard resulted in fragile fragments, handfuls of filmy particles and clouds of particle dust. Used a mask to avoid breathing the dust and had to wash hands twice to get the residue off. This is a stunningly useless, icky "material" that degrades into a whopping clean up hassle. Regretfully have a lot more product i planned to used. A hazmat bag would be appropriate for disposal.

Very light weight and gentle on plants. Will let through enough light.
