Had bought a higher priced DAC to set up a headphone listening station. Was so impressed getting back into my old cd's decided to get a dac for the computer in the bedroom after starting a Tidal streaming trial, but didn't want to spend much money. This item has really surprised me. Very tiny but with tone controls and a headphone output. Using the usb input from the computer listening through headphones I was very impressed with the sound. So much so dusted off old Rotel pre and power amp feeding Coincident Conquest floor standing speakers and the sound is astounding! Busy exploring Tidal listening old tracks and artists. Bringing back a lot of fond memories.

On the Nintendo Switch, you can adjust the volume from the controller menu, but only if you use USB audio. It doesn't work if you use the headphone jack.I had been playing videogames with my Logitec G gaming headset plugged directly into my Nintendo switch, or sometimes, my Nvidia gaming monitor. The Logitec headset comes with its own USB adapter, and I used that sometimes, but I needed it for my laptop, so I went shopping for a cheap USB-to-headphone adapter. I didn't think sound quality was a factor, because it's a gaming headset not music headphones, and it's a videogame, not music. I just wanted to be able to adjust the volume from the controller. I bought this one because it was about the cheapest one with USB input (needed for the Switch) but it also has optical and coaxial inputs.I have say I'm pretty surprised. The output is perfectly quiet with no hiss or static, and the sound is WAY better, even better than using the original Logitec USB adapter. You can hear every footstep in Zelda, every drop of ink in Splatoon. It's a pretty big difference. You can seriously hear the little footsteps of the smallfry enemies. And the tone controls are more of a bonus than I thought, because gaming headsets often have unbalanced bass. I ended up turning up the bass a little bit just until certain bomb sounds got too boomy. And I cut back the treble a little bit to make it sound less bright and harsh at high volumes. Basically, I didn't expect to need the tone controls but I ended up being glad I have them because no matter what headset I get in the future I can probably benefit from a little tweak.I would say this is the ultimate example of "even a cheap headphone amp is probably better than no headphone amp". Maybe if you have a good soundcard already, this won't help, but it's cheap enough to try, and having the cool tone control knobs and volume knob is worth something too.

Runs my 560s no issues, really good sound adjustment with the knobs and is noticable. I am able to make my headphones much louder and it looks nice on my desk. Easy to use, plenty of volume control, and powerful.

I have recently purchased DACs: a schitt dac, a wiim ultra, and this aiyima. The Aiyima was the least expensive. As I discovered over the past 4 months that DACs do make a very noticeable difference, it wasn't hype. I realized I had to upgrade my computer audio, which sounded worse now that my expectations were raised. was hoping I would hear an improvement and I was shocked by the improved performance. My Beats Pro headphones sounded almost muffled connected to my computer on blue tooth (which isn't an issue connected to my TV for music), a little better connected to the audio plug on my computer, but sounds fantastic connected to the Aiyima via headphone jack. And the speakers (Saiyin active bookshelf) now sound so much better connected to the Aiyima.

Amazing sound quality for the price, but rotating the volume knob in any way causes a very loud crackling. I use this and headphones as my PC audio output so I'm constantly changing the volume depending on what media is playing, and the crackling is maddening. Sometimes it magically goes away, but I have yet to figure out the secret to reproduce it.

It'a my first dac amp so im no expert. I recently bought a pair of sennheiser hd6xx and wanted a cheap dac amp. I am happy with it so far. It's easy to tune the treble and bass while gaming or listening to music. The sound doesnt see much different from my motherboard though.

I am partially deaf and bought this so I could listen clearly to online videos on my computer. I am happy to say it works really well, provides a nice treble boost to compensate for my hearing loss. Easy to set up. Just flip a switch and plug it in. A high quality, well constructed product from China. NOTE: This will not work for amplifying a CD player because it does not have a 3.5 mm input. It is only for a computer and comes with all the cables needed to connect to a computer. Highly recommended.

I bought an expensive USB interface for my computer. It had an optical jack, separate headphone and speaker volume, analog xlr inputs, and multiple outputs. Even though it was a hardware interface it wasn’t configurable or controllable without the software. Well the software didn’t work and so I couldn’t get the optical jack to work, which was 90% or my reason for buying it. AND it was $300. So i sent that back, fortunately a good return policy, and researched getting a headphone amp with an optical input. For the lower price this unit works exactly how I expected, no software needed. With the expensive unit, plugging in the headphones didn’t kill the speakers, so they had to be turned off separately, what a pain! With this unit plugging in the headset kills the speakers for you. The quality throgh the optical jack is stunning, VERY clear. I’m glad I got the interface I needed, and at a MUCH better proice.

I bought this as a means to fight the interference I heard due to the number of cables/wires ran behind my pc. This was my second choice, but the first one i ordered was lost in shipping so I tried for a different vendor. When it's working, it works fine, and it is nice to have the bass/treble controls if you aren't going to have them further down in your setup.I would have preferred the 1/4" headphone jack over the 1/8" as those are easier to fix when they become loose, which is what's happened to mine within a year of use. This is very odd as I was using it at work where I leave my headphones plugged in all the time. I also would have preferred a separate power switch so that I could leave the volume at my preferred level, but both of those are minor gripes. The size is great and it has plenty of power for a standard set of headphones. It completely erased any and all interference I was hearing. The fact that it's powered via USB is also nice. USB isn't enough for full on speakers, but plenty for this use, and provides the convenience of plugging into your PC. It's sad though, that it needs a separate input for power instead of feeding power from the full sized type-B port on the back.2 stars off for not even lasting a year. The solder joints on the jack look fine, so it's internal to the connector.
