Once built, I love this sandbox! Very sturdy and has good shade coverage. The instructions were pretty clear as well. With that being said, there were some issues. One of the pieces (the part holding up the canopy) had been assembled upside down by the factory. I had to unscrew it and screw it into the other end so the rest of it would fit. One piece came split but it was a part that wasn’t major. The main issue was once I got to the canopy. They have small dimples of where the screws go in and I had followed them the whole time with no issue. Once I got to the top of the canopy, one of the cross bars had dimples that ended up running into each other. They were placed on a 90 degree angle so they needed to be spaced out as to not run into each other….spoiler alert they ran into each other. I had to drill my own hole and it kind of ruined the layout but with the canopy attached you can’t tell! With all of that being said, I still love the product and my kids are having a blast with it. The instructions say it takes 45 minutes to set up with two people. I had myself and my two year old, but I would be shocked if I got it done in 45 minutes with another adult!Once assembled it is great though!!

Highly recommend! This has been a great addition to our backyard. I was drawn to this because I wanted one with an attached lid. I saw this one and thought it was way too cheap for what it was advertising I'd get. Nope, it's exactly as advertised. For size reference, my 3 year old has a ton of space. His 9 and 12 year old siblings can squeeze in there with him too, but not functionally lol.I've only had two issues. Neither of which makes me dislike the sandbox. The only one that actually annoys me is how difficult it is to get the canopy back up with one person. You must pull one side, tighten it, walk around, and repeat until you inch it up to the top. The only other issue we've had is the bench coming detached from the sandbox. They pulled right out of it, no stripping/tear, etc. The screws that secure the hinges just don't work as intended, but super easy fix.

The Aivituvin Kids Sandbox with Canopy is amazing! The foldable bench seats are super convenient and sturdy, and the retractable roof is a game-changer for sunny days. The size is perfect for multiple kids to play together, and the quality of the wood feels durable and well-made. Assembly was straightforward, and the included cover keeps everything clean when not in use. My kids love it, and it’s been the highlight of our backyard! Highly recommend!

The wood split when building it. Unfortunately it didn't last a summer.

Built this in less then an hour. Everything went together easy and it's a great size. I looked at a lot before purchasing this one and it's perfect for our 4 and 6 year old. Tons of room for them to play. Very happy with this buy.

Although I love the design of this sandbox, I am disappointed that the wood is cheap. It comes with pre drilled holes but the wood split in several places while assembling it. The sandbox itself is still usable but I don’t think it will last long. Luckily, it’s for my 2 year old granddaughter so it won’t be abused. I’ll update this review in a while with how well it held up.

I run an in-home daycare and bought this as an upgrade for a small plastic sandbox I have. I love the concept of the canopy top that can be raised up and down however it is almost impossible to raise with just one person. The wood top also started coming apart within 3 days since it was only put together with flimsy nails so my husband had to rebuild it. The bottom part seems to be a bit sturdier so I'm hopeful it won't fall apart also.

It wasn't too terrible to assemble yet some of the pictures in the instruction manual did not match what it actually looked like so it threw me for a loop for about 20 minutes because it didn't make sense. Then I looked at the cover and was like oh okay this is the right way. This wood is extremely SOFT. Looks to be treated but I can't be for certain but under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you try to put together the "canopy" alone and be VERY careful when drilling the screws in. If you go too fast you'll split the wood. If I could return this I would because I'm not sure it'll even last the summer because the canopy is so flimsy. Also on top of the wood splitting the canopy velcro doesn't line up, the bottom material just lays on the ground (which I find to be weird) so once the sand is in there you arent moving it, and lowering and rasing the top is a very precarious situation. I suggest you spend more money and buy a better version of this because I ended up gluing the top portion together just so it wouldn't fall apart. How did I get duped into buying this?! I stg it has waaaaay better reviews then it should have.Update 5/6/2023: The whole top has completely broken and will no longer stay up at all. To be clear this isnt just sitting out in the middle of the yard. I placed mine next to a shed so the wind wouldnt disturb it as mich when there was a storm. Really though it spent most of winter in the down position but I went to lift it up one day, and nope it's had it. It being able to be closed isn't super ideal either. I have to somehow figure out how to scoop all this sand out now because all kinds of bugs have decided to move into the sand pit so if you close it up for winter, figure out how to actually close it up. Or risk your kids getting bit by all sorts of things. This is legit an eyesore now. Spend more money and don't buy this garbage.
