I measured my copper level before and after using this for 2 months. I just recently removed it from my pool so the levels do not get too high. I did notice a increase of clarity in my pool water. My chemical levels are always spot on, but adding this, there is a difference in how well I see in the water. I usually have to add copper sulfate at the beginning of the year when I open the pool so ill be curious what my pool water will look like next spring with the copper levels being where its at.

I had high hopes for the Airthereal C9 Square Solar Pool Ionizer, which promised clear water and less chlorine. It started off well, but unfortunately, the casing cracked and it sunk to the bottom of my pool. Despite its initial effectiveness, durability issues make it a disappointing purchase.

I have had a cloudy pool for the past 3 weeks. Which is how long the ionizer has been in my pool. I was hoping this would be the solution to the cloudiness, so far not good. I have had to clean the anode of residue twice so far. I am removing it from the pool now to see if that makes a difference. But, so far I am disappointed.I check my chemical balance most days. It is perfect. Except for the cloudiness. I am wondering if the ionizer can possibly be the culprit. It puts out copper green residue and the pool has had a green tint the whole time. Time will tell, I hope...

You can see the anode bubbling up when the panel is in full sun.It isn't an outright replacement for proper algaecide application, but it can and will prolong the time between said applications. It also won't cure an existing problem. This creature is for maintenance purposes. The amount of copper you're getting out of the tiny trickle of electric current is miniscule, but it doesn't take much to keep green algae at bay.Now, if you're fighting mustard algae, this ain't it chief. And also, I hurt with you and for you in that battle!

Hard to tell if this thing is working. They recommend cleaning every two weeks. After 17 days I checked it and it was really loaded with buildup. The copper piece was corroded (as it should be) and there was a lot of buildup on the spring. It cleans off easily with the included brush and a hose. I recommend wearing gloves because the copper will get on your skin and smell. Does it work? Well, we don't have any algae and the copper test strip reads

I've used one of these all summer and I've never had a cleaner pool. I had to use far less chlorine than usual and the water never went south -- which is a first for me. Usually, somewhere around the dog days of summer when the temps are in the high 90s the algae sneaks up, seemingly over night. The copper this solar powered ionizer releases into the water blocks the green stuff from growing. Unfortunately, I neglected my old one. It rusted up and corroded beyond redemption. I'll take better care of this one next summer. Just take it out and clean it every few weeks and it'll be good to go. I'm glad to not be spending as much on pool chems. The less chlorine in the water the better. My eyes don't burn and the water tastes sweeter. Get one of these, you'll be glad you did.

I have been able to completely eliminate the need for chemicals using this. I only need to vacuum the bottom on occasion and then skim the top, otherwise this thing does all the work! I have saved a lot of money and hassle trying to keep my pool water clean, this is really a great product. It does feel weird not having the chlorine smell and instead having a bit of copper smell, but that’s very easy to get over when you realize how effective it is.
