This portable compressor by Ecomax is a handy little unit for spray painting or airbrushing or if you have smaller air tools and for general dust blowing tasks. Having the 3 gallon tank provides a steady air supply that can typically provide enough air pressure to power a small brad or trim nailer but is mostly ideal for spray guns or inflatable items. The size and weight of this compressor makes it ideal for transportation and storage so we're using this mostly for crafts and painting in a smaller working area.I timed the unit from 0-psi to full @110psi and it took just over 3 mins. While using, it will typically kick back on at around 80psi. The onboard regulator is easily adjusted to control your output pressure as needed. The tank also has a convenient water drain which is definitely good to have, especially in more humid climates and environments. I am always amazed at how much water accumulates in my larger compressor tank on a daily basis. The only downside to this compressor is its noise level which is surprisingly loud for such a small unit. Although the unit appears to be solidly built and performs well, I can hear evidence of metal shavings inside the tank, probably from the manufacturing process. Not a big deal but a little odd that the tank wasn't completely cleared of debris before assembly. At around $140, it is competitively priced but may be somewhat louder than others. 4 stars.

When I bought this product I filled up the tank once and it worked fine... I filled up the tank twice and it quit running... So I unplugged it waited for a little while that the air out started again and everything looks fine so far

Horrible item. Don’t buy. Can’t say what you really need to know because it will not get posted.

On time and as described. Compact and lightweight. I use it for small jobs around the house.

ECOMAX Air CompressorI ordered this air compressor for faster recovery, more portability and because the decibel range was listed as a safe level.... That has since changed and it is now (at the time of this review) listed as 78 decibels. ( hearing damage is said to occur at 70 decibels and above.)This compressor failed to meet my expectations. I was hoping for a compressor that could be used without worrying about hearing protection. The decibel range of this unit of course fluctuates during operation; ranging for around 78-97 decibels...with the average being around 87 decibels...this range will damage your hearing. With this compressor being half the size of my other, I was expecting it to fill quickly, … but it actually took longer to fill than my 6 gallon compressor. The unit is smaller, lighter, more portable, and features a longer power cord so in these areas it did at least meet or exceed expectation. While the unit did disappoint, I would not say it is enough to warrant a 2 star rating. 3 stars.Explaining my rating system:5 - a superior product - I would highly recommend4 - above average – a great choice3 - average – what one might generally expect2 - below average – I would advise seeking an alternative1- Horrible – a waste of your valuable money - avoid if at all possible

This is a small compact unit, and as such is pretty low CFM and is not suitable for large high flow tools. However it is quite reasonable for light duty things like blowing up tires or low air demand tools. It is pretty loud - they claim it's only 78dB, but I don't believe it. I wasn't grabbing for my ear-pro, but it was not comfortable sitting next to it when it was running. Given the small tank size, on most jobs I'd expect it to be running a lot, but that is the price for being small and light. It is also relatively slow to reach full pressure. It is light, and the flip up handle makes it easy to pick up and carry. The cord has a Velcro bundling strap which is a nice touch. The guages appear to be accurate, or at least they match the claimed 110psi shutoff and 80psi start pressures. The regulator operates easily, and the air fittings are standard 1/4" industrial type, steel but at least they are plated. The tank is supposed to be coated inside to prevent rust, and has a drain that works easily and seals well (at least while new) but the light weight may lead to shorter life before it rusts out. (again a trade-off for low weight)I did not see any obvious air filtration, or any other service points besides the drain. The accessories were basic and low end, but adequate. The biggest annoyance is that they give you both a blow-gun and a tire chuck, but only ONE fitting for them. On the slightly plus side, they give a large roll of Teflon tape, and two ball needlesThis is a nice unit for those that value compactness, light weight and portability as most important, but it comes at a cost in terms of power. However I give it 5 stars for being good at what it is.
