Specifications:

Material: ABS

Color: Orange + Black

Size: 6.1 x 2.4 x 1.4 Inches

Package Include: 1 x Relearn Tool for Auto Tire Pressure Monitor Sensor

The sensor re-read-in read-in procedure must be executed after each tire change, body control module replacement, or sensor replacement. Once the reread mode is enabled, the identification code for each sensor will be read into the body control module memory. When a sensor identification code is read, the body control module causes the horn to chirp to indicate that the sensor has sent an identification code and that it has been received and read by the body control module. The body control module must read the sensor identifiers in the correct order to determine the correct sensor location.

▲The first code read is assigned to the left front position, the second to the right front position, the third to the right rear position and the fourth to the left rear position. The turn signal lights will illuminate separately to indicate the correct order of the read positions.

①Use the EL-50448 or equivalent to diagnose sensor function

Each sensor has an internal low frequency coil. When tire pressure monitoring is used in enable mode, a low frequency transmission signal will be generated to activate the sensor. In read-in mode, the sensor responds to the low-frequency activation by transmitting the signal. In Tire Pressure Monitor Read-In Mode, when the Body Control Module receives a Read-In Mode transmission signal, it assigns the sensor identification code to the vehicle location corresponding to its read-in sequence.

②Sensor Function - Using the Pressure Increase/Decrease Method

In standstill mode, each sensor takes a pressure measurement sample every 30 seconds. If tire pressure increases or decreases by more than 8.3 kPa (1.2 psi) from the last measurement, a re-measurement will be taken immediately to confirm the pressure change value.

Synopsis:

This is a tire pressure reset instrument, or learning motion.

After each tire shift, tire, body control module, and tire pressure sensor replacement, the sensor re-matching procedure must be performed to ensure the correctness of the tire pressure value acquisition display.

Operation steps:

1. Make sure the vehicle is in the TPMS learning state/mode.

2. Follow the automotive maintenance procedures, holding the instrument in order (left front, right front, right rear, left rear), aligned with the valve core lever (the mouth of the gas) near the tire sidewall to press the reset button.

3. At this time the green LED light (TX light) will light up, that is, to send a signal, when you hear the car beeps after that is a successful match.

4. Match other tires in turn.

EL-50448 instructions:

EL50448 works on all General Motors products manufactured for the North American market. It won't work if you've purchased aftermarket sensors that are the wrong frequency. EL50448 fit for G.M most kind of vehicles, equipped with a 315 or 433 MHz Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) system. This re-learn procedure can be performed by using special tool EL-50448.

How to use EL 50448 TPMS Activation Tool

Step 1- Enter leaning mode

Set the gearshift lever to "P"

Put the ignition switch to “ON”

Enter the interface of tire pressure display by DIC

DIC shows "Press Set / Ctrl to re-learn"

Press “Set / Ctrl”

The turn signal is lighted for 3 seconds and the horn beep sound twice to enter the learning mode

Step 2- Read tire pressure sensor information

Start from the front-left wheel,

Make the J-46079 or Diagnostic Tool EL-50448 antenna up against the valve core position & close to the rim of the tire sidewall

El-50448 tire pressure tool starts by the start switch

Successful to read the tire pressure sensor information when the horn bleeps once

Step 3- Same method to read other tire pressure information

Follow the instuction above to read tire pussure of the front-right, rear-right, rear-left wheels.

Turn signals is lighted for 3 seconds and the horn bleeps twice when the learning is complete.

For certain vehicles equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) system, a "Sensor Re-Learn Procedure" must be performed after tire rotations, Remote Control Door Lock Receiver Module replacement or Tire Pressure Sensor replacement. This re-learn procedure can be performed by using special tool 50448

EL-50448 Customer Questions & Answers:

Q1: Which GM automobiles will EL-50448 TPMS work on?

A1: Only GM vehicles around 2003 to present.

Q2: Will it work on a expedition xlt 2006 , thanks

A2: No, this is for General Motors vehicles only.

Q3: Does it work on B-MWs?

A3: It worked on my B-MW motorcycle, which uses S-chrader brand TPMS sensors in the tires, so I would guess the B-MW auto would be the same. There are some weird tricks you will need to look up, for example, on my Suzu-ki automobile, you have to follow a procedure including which tire to start out at and which one you end at,so I am sure it must be similar for B-MW.

Q4:Why does it not work even after the green light is on?

A4:Make sure that you hold the instrument in order (left front, right front, right rear, left rear) and press the reset button against the tyre's sidewall near the valve core lever (the port where the air is added).

Troubleshooting:

1. make sure it is equipped with a 315/433MHz tyre sensor and is using a fresh 9v battery.

2. Make sure the antenna is mounted in the correct position.

3. please make sure the front tyre is flat and your tyre sensor is fully charged or in good condition.

4. it is not suitable for heavy trucks with more than 4 tyres.

Worked as advertised, it took a minute to a minute and a half to do all four tires. Would recommend this to anyone with a GM vehicle.

Worked great when I first used. Two weeks later my tire pressure light was for both driver side tires. Tried to reprogram again and it wouldn’t reset either sensor. Would not recommend.

No instructions probably because TPM setup is vehicle specific. I used YouTube to work out what to do with my truck. I should have bought this years ago

This product did not work for me at first, after trying for a half an hour.I found the secret was NOT to put it parallel to the valve stem, but to go UNDERNEATH it on the sidewall of the tire. I believe this is the issue that people claiming it did not work were experiencing. (Although there may have been other reasons). Videos showed it being used parallel to the valve stem. This is not the way to do it. I am assuming that the metal from the rim blocks the signal, so you need to go to below the stem, on the sidewall of the tire itself. The tire itself is obviously less dense, thus allowing the signal from the hand held unit to penetrate to the sensor inside the of the tire. Once I figured that out, (And I held it SIDEWAYS, not head on.) it took me all of about 90 seconds to do all 4 tires. YAY. That saved me a 36 mile trip to the tire shop in order to have them do it, and it will now save me the 36 mile trip and $20 cash every time I rotate my tires. I am most pleased indeed. The price I paid for this was less than half of what a tire shop charges in my area, and I can do it now each and every time I need to.
