The AH-UVCBA Light Meter,Test The UV Index of UVB | UVC,Irradiance Intensity of UVC, UVB, and UVA.Record The w/m² Distribution of UVC-UVA.appears good quality and well made. The meter registered UVC light when held to a known UVC bulb.It registers UVA light when held to a known UVA source. The instructions are clear and concise.Comes with three (3) AAA batteries to power the unit or it can run on the included USB adapter with the included USB A to micro cable. There is no internal rechargeable battery so it would have to remained plugged in but that could be very useful if you are bench testing different lights. The adapter is UL certified. The telescoping arm is great for getting the sensor closer to the light source.Even includes a small screwdriver to open the battery compartment. There's a 3.5mm headphone style jack on top that I have no idea what it does as there's no mention of it anywhere..I have no way of knowing how accurate the readings are.Overall, it does what it says. At $189 at the time of this review is it priced similar to other such sensors.

For the function of detecting and measuring different UV sources, it seems to work. I don't have any calibrated UV sources, but I have a known good UVC disinfecting bag and it seems to work in detection just fine.Question is probably whether it's measuring the intensity correctly. That's a TBD, I think. The interface looks like it'd be complicated, but it's actually really easy to use. Maybe they made it look more difficult to make it seem like it has more functionality (therefore value)? Just a thought. What bugs me is the USB input and the batteries. This system will run off of USB power, but if you want portability, you need to use the AAA batteries they include. Why not have rechargeable batteries? So many products nowadays (even frighteningly cheap ones) have rechargeable batteries. Just a bit of a thorn for me, I suppose.

I ordered this really just out of curiosity more than anything. I live in Florida and even on the cooler days - the sun blasts us. I first turned this device on inside and had a very low uva reading. Then I took it outside where it quickly went up. When I went into the direct sunlight - the uvb would go up to between 1-3 off and on. I tried this with the uv light I use on my aquarium as well. It seems to work well. I really have no way of telling how accurate it is, but considering where I have tried it and the variances I’ve gotten, I feel like it is fairly spot on.I really look forward to trying this when it is 100 degrees out with blasting summer sun.

Mainly got this so i could determine light intensity for my solar panels. On days with high in the sky wispy clouds, my solar panels tend to produce more power than they do even on clear days. I wanted this so i could see if the light intensity is more powerful on those days, or if maybe the extra cloud cover is keeping my panels cool and that is why they are producing more power? Either way I'm excited to try this out to get a better understand of what is going on. The kit has everything you need to get started including batteries and usb cord/charger. I fired it up to test it out but the dim light in my office didn't register on the meter. Will update this review later if i have any issues with it.

This little machine is well made and works great. It's accurate when compared to the weather bureau's much more expensive instruments. I have several sanitizers left over from Covid days and have used the meter to check their output as they were used regularly. It's a good accurate unit at a reasonable price.Damon M. Tatem

First, this unit DOES appear to measure UV-A, UV-B, and UV-C with some accuracy. I would have sworn that I saw a set of spectral response curves for each range, but I can't find them now in the product listing or the user's manual.I love that this unit has an old-fashioned physical on-off slide switch. Now, the mysteries:1) The unit ships with a USB power adapter and "charging" cable -- and a set of three alkaline (non-rechargeable) AAA cells. There's no indication of what could be "charged" with the cable, no indication that the unit supports a data connection to a PC, and no indication of what should happen if you DO plug it in. I certainly HOPE it doesn't try to charge primary alkaline cells.2) The unit has a mystery mini-phono-style jack at the top. No clue what this is for, no accessories to plug into it, and no mention in the manual.3) When operating the unit in its µW/cm^2 mode, it registers at least 1 µW/cm^2, even in total darkness. I see no way to "zero out" this measurement.4) The listing says this measures intensity up to 39999 µW/cm^2. I find that mine registers up to 43000 or so in the UV-A range. This is easily exceeded by any of the 365nm flashlights that are increasingly cheap and common. When UV-A exceeds this value, it starts bleeding over into the UV-B and UV-C readings, even for sources incapable of generating UV-B or UV-C output.5) In direct sunlight (mid-latitude, mid-winter), the unit reported UV-A intensity of 2555 µW/cm^2, UV-B of 2 µW/cm^2, and UV-C of 10 µW/cm^2. This makes me think there's significant bleed-over from UV-B radiation into the UV-C range; there shouldn't be any measurable UV-C in sunlight at ground level.Trying the unit with known UV-C sources (mercury lamps) gave the expected results. I THINK this is mostly giving plausible readings, and I'm happy to have a tool that lets me make some measurements across a wide UV range. But the odd results for sunlight and for UV-A LED emitters leave me uncertain how much I can trust it.I'll follow up here if I can nail these issues down. If I can prove it's not accurate, I'll remove more stars. If I can find answers about the mystery ports and the spectral response curves, I'll add a star.
