My title is not an exxageration... this is probably the one of the better PAR meters out there and it's so ridiculously affordable! It's super accurate, easy to read. This is much nicer than my current one and reads so much more. This is literally the best PAR meter I own. Get this before they figure out that they put the wrong price on Amazon! :-P 10 stars out of 5!I hope you liked my review. I always try really hard to write reviews are are candid, honest, and helpful for your shopping decisions. No AI here... all the poor writing is mine and mine alone! :-P

The PAR meter has been exactly what I’ve been needing. This has helped me to achieve accurate light readings to provide optimal lighting to my plants and gardens. Very easy to use and cycle through. The unit allows you hold readings with the push of a button. Multiple settings allowing you to measure ppfd, RGB, UV. Runs on battery but doesn’t use much power. Good price for the unit provided what it can do to help your plants grow and flourish. Everything functions as it should and I’ve noticed considerable increased growth rates in my plants since using proper lighting. If you garden or have houseplants I highly recommend.

I bought this thinking it was for infrared also, but it does visible light and Ultra Violet light....I'm keeping it anyway because it feels really well made and easy to operate and might come in useful one day for other light testing.

I have another PPFD meter that is twice the price of this one, the only difference is the other one has a detachable sensor. I tested this against the other and it reads pretty much the same PPFD value. The difference with this one which makes it better is it also gives you an RGB reading too so you can see what the levels of the colors are. I have tossed some older LED grow lights and replaced them after using this and finding out that the older ones were using more electricity and putting out lower PPFD. I went from having stretchy tomato and pepper seedlings to thick robust babies by just checking the output of the LED"s with this device. This device can also help you determine what distance above your plants to set your lights, just google for PPFD values for the plant type and use this meter to move the light up and down until you get that reading.Using this thing and a watt meter, I was honestly shocked that newer LED lights using less electricity were outputting more PPFD. I had tried Lumen meters in the past, but they are useless compared to these meters. This is probably the best deal on a PPFD meter you will find. I'd buy this again.

I’ve been using the AH-Quantuv PAR Meter in my greenhouse for a couple of months to help manage the lighting for my lettuce, peppers, tomatoes, and citrus fruits. This meter measures PPFD (400-750nm) and UVA (320-400nm) irradiance intensity, which allows me to assess the amount and type of light my plants receive. A feature I find particularly useful is its ability to separate the PAR values for red, green, and blue light. This has made it easier to adjust the light spectrum for specific crops—lettuce benefits from more blue light, while tomatoes and citrus seem to do better with a higher ratio of red light. The meter is simple to use, with a clear display that’s easy to read in various lighting conditions. It’s lightweight and portable, making it practical for checking light levels in different parts of the greenhouse. Recording PAR and UVA levels is straightforward and helps track changes when adjusting light placement or intensity. The readings have been consistent and accurate based on comparisons with another meter, and I’ve used the data to identify and address uneven light distribution. The device feels sturdy and suitable for greenhouse use, but it doesn’t seem designed to withstand drops or prolonged exposure to high humidity. The buttons work smoothly, and the overall construction is solid enough for its purpose. A storage case would be a helpful addition since I move it frequently, and the manual could include more detail for those less familiar with interpreting light data.

I purchased this to check on the greenhouse lights since they are approaching the end of their life span and I want to get the new lights ordered up as soon as I notice the lights loosing power as well as to check the new ones are working within the proper range. I did have a friend stop over with his wife's high end light meter that she uses at work as a photographer. This meter wad spot on with her $500 profesional meter that also does the Par reading and this was spot on within a half of a percentage point with the expensive one. Definitely a good score.

The meter does a good job at detection and the readings are instantaneous. UVA readings have to be manually initiated so there is an extra step. It should provide a good baseline for anything needing quality light for their needs.

a handheld meter that checks different wavelengths helped me measure precise light levels for indoor plants. it shows separate readouts for various parts of the spectrum, plus a value for uv. the color-coded display updates fast, so i can move around a grow area and get readings from multiple angles. logging data for each spot is straightforward, and i can store readings to compare later. it’s helped me figure out if the lamps are delivering enough intensity, especially during winter. i appreciate the compact shape that slips into a side pocket or small pouch. battery drain is low, and the device feels durable enough for repeated use in a workshop setting.
