Does not work for the 22+ Chevy refresh models with the 5.3 10spd trans. Wish it did though! Soon as these guys makes one for the new chevys that also has the auto start/stop disabler I will buy it

This review is for AFM/DFM Disabler AFM Disabler 5.3 Silverado for 2005-2024 GMC & Chevrolet Vehicles Designed in USA Brand: BenowoSo I did a lot of research on this entire topic. First, is this even necessary? Beneficial? A total no-brainer? And second, which one to buy if so since there are a lot of these out there. Then I'll hit a point that others have made in their reviews that I needed to consider when choosing the right one for me.So do you need one? TL:DR for me - The lifters are hydraulic and when your engine shifts from V8 to V4 (in my case), it just quits pumping oil into 4 of the lifters and there is a lifter pin which either allows it to drop or keeps it down (not sure which, exactly). This pin apparently can sheer off which is one way that you end up with a big repair bill. So, in my view, not dropping means less pin action and therefore it is less likely to shear and less likely to have a big repair bill. Probably an oversimplification, but I decided that for a tiny decrease in mileage, and full time V8 power with no delay, running the engine with as little "modification" from the early 2000 and prior was the way to go. So I decided I needed one of these.Assuming you are thinking along similar lines, which one to get? Well, I am staying away from the super cheapos but at the same time I'm not a Snap-On guy so staying away from the crazy expensive ones. It's a pretty basic device but this thing is going to talk to your ECU so you don't want some fly by night product having access to your vehicle's grey matter. So, I looked for reputation, quality, and a fair but not crazy low or crazy high price, etc.Quality is definitely there in this product - the plastic case almost feels like aluminum it is so well defined with crisp edges, etc. It has a red LED for power and a green LED to confirm that it is meeting it's objective and has established the necessary communication with the ECU. It's small - on my Suburban it is almost unnoticeable. And, most importantly, it works! It does the job. In several days of driving in all conditions, I never saw my engine drop down to V4.As to some of the other comments - the most common was the indicator LEDs. Either they don't work, are too dim, etc. They are inside the black plastic case and shine "through" so they are most definitely subdued. They are brighter from the side (where the label is) vs. on the end. In my installation, the end is what faces me, the side faces the underside of the dashboard, so I am looking at the dimmest angle but they are clearly there. In my opinion, dim LEDs is a feature, not a bug. I don't need some glaring LED shining in my face at 11pm. If you look down there when it is dark out, or in your garage, you will see the lights. In the full daylight, probably not. Once you install this thing, you never need to look at it again - it just does it's job quietly and in the background. More and brighter LEDs is not on my wish list. This is an effective, mid-priced, high quality product in my opinion. It does the job and I'm comfortable that it's not going to scramble my ECU.

Tried the BENOWO AFM/DFM Disabler on my 2025 Silverado ZR2 1500, but auto start was still enabled. It didn’t disable the system as expected, making it useless for my vehicle. It might work on older models, but not for the 2025 ZR2. Disappointing.

This is the💥new💥2025 upgraded version of the AFM Disabler (I had a previous version). This unit keeps my Chevy Silverado running in full-cylinder V8 mode at all times. Only downside is gas mileage, but then you already know that. It doesn’t reprogram the factory ECU👍so no worries there... just unplug.I have no issues so far... Be SURE to do your due diligence and research (x3) ...Recommended!

There are a lot of conditions that can keep autostop from working so i can't verify this works for that but it does seem to disable dfm.If you want to do it manually without an odb device just shift to L and set it to 8 or 9.The dfm lifters are still present in your vehicle so they can still fail. The jury is out if disabling it actually does anything for longevity.
