Manufacturing

'At Aero Precision we’re known for two things: superior engineering & machining, and the ability to get the customer what they need, when they need it. Our products have been recognized across the country by members of the military and law enforcement communities for a simple fact - they work better.'

Aero Precision’s roots are deeply tied to aerospace, and our drive for clean, perfect engineering and machining stems from that. When you’re building something that will fly in the air, there is no margin for error. We take that same approach in the firearms industry. Not every manufacturer will have razor thin tolerance levels. Not every manufacturer will personally oversee the development, design and machining of every part that comes off the line. We’re not every manufacturer.

This mount seems to be nicely machined. I've just received it today and didn't have a chance to install it yet, so cannot comment to its functionality or strength. But I haven't seen anyone mentioning its weight tho, so I want to share it, since I think it's one of the most important features of this mount. The total weight (including all the bolts) is exact 100gr as measured by my scale.

I would say this is the lightest mount I have been able to find. Also super strong and very well made. I hope they make them QD some day. I would also recommend using blue LT on all.of the screws. Like most scopes they will lossen after shooting. Other than that great product for a great price.

Title says it all except one thing. They are very lightweight. The only thing bad about them and it’s on the buyer is make sure you don’t over tighten them use a torque wrench in inch lbs. Areo Precision gives you one “sort of”. (Hex wrench with a plastic break tab that works a few times but not meant to be used over and over) The mount is aluminum so you can strip it easily if you are not careful.

I use these on many builds where it's not a duty optioned build. They are well made and lightweight, look good and install is fairly easy and straight forward. I like the look and so far the durability on my weekend warrior builds running LPVOs. No complaints as I have been using this mount, and others made by AERO, for years with no real issues.

Can’t go wrong with Aero. Everything just mounted up perfect. The scope clamps are a hook style clamp which is great for larger caliber rifles. I personally put this on my .416 Barrett rifle. And it’s fantastic. But a note to all who mount a scope. Use blue loctite on ALL the screws. Rifles produce a ton of vibration. And you definitely do not want the screws to come loose and ruin your zero. I highly recommend!

I ordered this to compare against the same offset vortex sport catilever scope mount and decide between the two.I was originally worried about what other people had written about being difficult to get to level. I did find this to be true, but it wasn't too bad to get it to where I was happy with it. When you tighten it down, the scope will rotate a bit. To compensate for this, I just adjusted a bit more in the opposite direction. Took about 3 or 4 times of tightening & loosening the mounting hardware & re-adjusting the scope rotation to get it level.Overall though the quality is good and I like the design.Sure some of the other designed cantilever scope mounts are simpler and easier to get level, but I'm willing to put up with it for the weight savings. If I was swapping out scopes all the time, it might get annoying and at that point I would likely consider a different one.Not to mention, the aero mount is half the weight of the Vortex one.It also puts the scope just a hair lower closer to the rail than the vortex.

I was torn between giving this mount 4 or 5 stars. Reason for 4 star: the three screws used to lock down the mount provides a SOLID base. I mounted my Vortex Crossfire II and LOVED IT! HOWEVER...you knew that was coming. The CFII has such great eye relief that I wanted to move the mount forward one rail slot to take full advantage of the eye relief. Son-f-a-b@#$h...the area where the receiver rail meets the rail on the free-float hand guard prevents me from mounting the scope where I wanted to re-position it to maximize eye relief. The join creates a half inch area where another rail slot would be if the receiver were monolithic. That third screw/use of three screws causes this issue.I wanted my cheek weld for both scope and BUIS to be the same. The cheek weld is really close for me, so really not a big deal but is something to be aware of. This replaced a Primary Arms AR15 Basic Scope Mount, Black ($26!). I had no problems with the PA scope mount. In fact I love that mount. It uses a single screw to secure the mount to the rail and is ROCK SOLID in that regard. But the weight of the Aero mount, I could not resist.I will not repeat the glowing remarks posted by other reviewers, only tell you they are right.-The price is right/low for such a quality mount-The star wrench tool provided is my go to wrench for other devices using same size nut.-I had zero problems leveling the scope. May have gotten lucky here. I simply tighten the center screw just enough to have to apply more than casual pressure to rotate as needed. I tighten a little more, check level...repeat as needed. I then tightened the other two screws. I use a level and a plumb bob to do my leveling.-- Has held zero after 200 rounds and after remounting the scope to test return-to-zero.Do not waste your money on a name brand fan-boy product. The durability and quality is apparent in this mount.

Very lightweight, which was important to me because I put it on an AR 10 varient, which already was tipping the scales at 10 lbs before I put the scope on it. It holds zero well under the recoil of the 308 Winchester rounds I am shooting. It works at least as well as the Leopold mount I was using before.Mounting my Vortex 6.5-20 x 44 scope was easy, I was able to mount it level within minutes.I like the open sight line on the mount under the scope, it allows you to drop below the scope for close range shots. It isn't a precision way of taking a long range shot, but it should be adequate for 50 yards or less. It wouldn't be a backup for BUIS, but it could be useful if your offset BUIS were folded.Attachment of the mount to my Picatinny rail was easy, just three allen screws tightened using the provided allen key, which was also of very high quality (I wondered where they got them, if like to buy all the sizes). The mount is not quick release, but in my experience you lose zero easily with quick release, unless you spend big money.
