Works good great alternative for a Cobb intake system if you don’t want to deal with oiled filters dirtying your maf and making car run bad may need to trim post maf tube in some applications

This filter worked on my 2013 WRX STI with the Cobbs intake system. The inside diameter of the AEM 21-206DK is 4.5 in or 114mm. However it is a tight fit. I had to move the Cobbs turbo inlet hose back some passed the turbo inlet tube notch a little. You can see in the pics. This filter will not fit with the Cobbs Air Box with the lid. However I'm happy with this filter.

I was tired of the oiled filter from cobb and heard this filter would fit and was a good replacement. I messed around with it for awhile but in the end decided I couldn't get it to fit with the cobb air box. If you don't run the cobb air box you can probably get it working. You have to push the cobb rubber pipe onto the MAF pipe super far, i put it on the ground and pushed with entire body weight. Then you have to shove the other end of the cobb rubber pipe all the way over the plastic pipe on the engine, way past the little mark. After doing this you can get it on as you can see in my picture. The catch if you run the air box is the MAF sensor is right where the edge of the box is. I kind of bent the box a little and got the MAF sensor outside the box but I'm not sure I would trust it with vibrations and it might wear away the wires. That doesn't matter though because after getting that far I tried to put the cover on. :( cover doesn't fit as the filter is larger and hits the cover. When you push it down the bracket doesn't fit correctly and the MAF ends up being in the wrong spot again.Overall if you don't run the air box it will probably work but it's not going to work with the airbox.

This filter swapped right in as a replacement for the oiled Cobb sf intake filter on the Evo x. The Cobb filter is a bit longer, but this filter is much wider so it should even out. You do lose a lot of the suction sound coming from the intake, but the filter material is more efficient at cleaning the air all while using no oil.

Works easily as a replacement for a Cobb sf intake on 2013 wrx. No fitment issues on a Cobb sf intake WITHOUT the Cobb box. No cutting was needed. I can’t say for sure that the filter will fit with the Cobb intake box.(see pic. It’s pretty much right against the frame. Less than 1/2 inch away) Simply removed the old Cobb filter and put this AEM dryflow filter on. The car was previously pro tuned with the cobb filter but I haven’t had any issues with air/fuel ratio so far.

2013 STi. I replaced my Cobb filter with this because I wanted to do away with the oiled filter. It did take some modification to the air box and to the plastic tube as well as the bracket the tube mounts to because this filter is about an inch longer than the Cobb one. I cut 3/8 of an inch off of the tube where it inserts into the silicone hose. I cut a taper on the U shaped cutout to allow the MAF to move away from the fender without interfering with the box and finally I had to bend the bracket slightly 5* so the cone pointed down slightly. Overall I’m happy I did this and it fits great now with plenty of clearance around it.

Not really much to say on this one. People who buy these products to gain maaaad power and show off to their friends will be somewhat disappointed. Throwing on a pod filter isn't going to do much, except make some extra noise, but if you want one, this does the job.I went with a pod filter because my engine bay is seriously cramped, and this freed up a bit of room on the cool side of the turbos. It makes the spool noticeably louder, but there's no performance gains or anything like that.It does what it should though. Keeps small animals and trees from being sucked into my turbos and coming out the exhaust ground up like hot dogs. Not having to oil is is a fantastic thing, as well as just being able to wash it when it is dirty. It's a no frills, unmariated piece of chicken breast, and that's all you want from it.

I ordered this to replace an existing AEM-21-206DK. When it arrived, I assumed it was the oiled filter that had been mistakenly placed in the box for the AEM-21-206DK, as the bag inside the box that housed the filter had "21-206D" on it. It also looked completely different from the grey dry-flow filter that I already had. It looked, for all I could tell, like an oiled K&N filter. I returned it for a refund.I waited a few months until I REALLY needed one, and ordered it again, only to receive the same thing! I returned it again.I then ordered directly from AEM, thinking that they'd be SURE to get it right. Well, when I received my order from AEM it was the same thing! I called AEM, and expressed my concern. It turns out that it was all a misunderstanding.Apparently AEM has partnered with K&N for their air filters. K&N is now supplying the filter elements, and they are made to LOOK like a conventionally red-oiled K&N filter while in fact they are a dyed dry-element filter in a wire "sandwich" (just like is used on the oiled-style filters). At any rate, I just wanted to leave this review so as to prevent others from experiencing the same confusion/frustrations.I have amended my rating to reflect my satisfaction with the previous product, as I would expect that this new filter ought to outperform it. If my assumption proves incorrect, I'll update this review again.
