I will probably never have the opportunity to use a defibrillator on anyone, but this tool showed us how to properly use one, this is a good tool for practicing and learning how to properly use a very important life saving tool.

This is a perfect little refresher aide on how to use an AED. Or as a non bulky/inexpensive demonstrative for hownto use the real thing. I like this as a supplemental/non intimidating tool in teaching someone how to safe a life.

Regardless of looking like something I've seen in a pre-school, it does the job quite well. The item (in case the listing changes) is X XFT's 'XFT-120N' -- a compact AED simulator. I've been CPR certified for decades, and AED certified for as long as it's been available; I've used multiple simulators. One thing I will start with is that you should (wherever possible) practice using an AED simulator specific to the AED type you have where you work; they work fundamentally the same, but there are differences, and in an emergency, it's best to not have to think about it, look something up, or figure things out. But this unit is a pretty representative sample of different ones I've used, so I'd consider it a pretty good broad training unit. (Which is a good thing; just because it's most likely that I'll use one at work doesn't change the fact that they have them at airports, on planes, etc., and exposure to a range of them / a generic version makes it more likely I'll be comfortable with whichever model I encounter.)As to the unit itself, despite looking like a toy, it operates pretty much the same way as every training unit I've used before. After powering it on, it immediately starts the process, just like a real AED unit. It has voice instructions (available in English, French, Italian and Chinese), multiple (5) scenarios it can play out (basically at each of three iterations, if it advises you to administer a shock or not), can be set for either adult or child use, as well as having different CPM settings (it has a metronome, to help you get used to the pace.) You can also pause it, while it's active, if you need to interrupt things due to a 'teachable moment.' It comes with a set of pads (which are reasonably re-usable, but you will want to get spares if you use this a lot.) It runs off of a few AA batteries, so if you have a live subject who's willing to help your training, there's no possible way to actually shock them -- this is purely for simulations.Overall, it's a solid general AED trainer; while there are likely details for specific AEDs that you should learn, this unit is a pretty good choice for training in the basics.

This device is an educational device, which teaches you how to react when you are doing CPR. You will need 3 AA batteries to run it, and it is just simulation device, not a device to generate a real shock or to save someone from a real scenario. It has a carrying case, the device itself, but batteries are not included. I tried it this morning and feel that it is indeed a good learning tool for those who want to get familiar with what to do when you need to do a CPR. I never knew the pumping of the heart should be at the pace the machine is showing and I never knew how long you're supposed to press the chest and when or how many breaths you're supposed to give to try to necessitate someone. This device is worth a millions if someone in the household needs help and the person who learned from device this actually applied the skills. However, one thing that this machine is not equipped with is a more diverse language. it has many languages such as Italian, English, and some others I can't recognize, but no Chinese, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Korean, or other Asian languages. That's too bad, because not every Asian understand the language that is provided in the device. There are 5 scenarios, and adult or pediatric version to choose from, but basically, it's almost all the same. I think listening to every mode and both versions can really incurve the counts and breaths into your head for emergency purposes. Good learning too!
