  • Practical functions: Insulated plant protectors create a protective barrier around your plants with a wall of water, effectively blocking out cold air, warding off harsh environments and providing insulation to help protect your plants from frost, as well as preventing nibbling by deer, rabbits, squirrels and more.
  • Easy to use:Simply fill the 18 hollow tubes with water and allow them to expand, using the sunlight to heat them up and release the heat your plants need to ensure a warm growing environment. When not in use, drain the water and fold for storage.
  • Premium materials:Wall of water for tomato planting is made of high-quality heavy-duty plastic, not easy to tear and overturn, reusable, and effective in protecting your seedlings safely through the cold season.
  • Early planting:Insulating plant protective covers help tomatoes and other vegetables grow in cooler temperatures, extend planting time, and can start planting up to 2 months earlier than the traditional planting season, increasing harvest potential and bringing more harvest to your garden.
  • Protective cover set: You will receive 10 sky blue insulated plant protectors, each measuring approximately 19x17 inches when filled with water, suitable for growing most fruits, vegetables and flowers, such as tomatoes, cucumbers, melons, peppers, squash, broccoli, strawberries and more.

These are certainly large for freeze protectors; however, the plastic is much thinner than I expected. I think they'll work, I just don't know how many seasons of use I'll get out of them. I have high hopes that these will work great in allowing me to get a good head start on my growing season, however.

I have been using these "water walls" from various supplies for many years. With age the seals between the channels fail requiring an insert of living with the lop-sided result. These deep aqua blue water walls appear to have wider seal seams than some I have used in the past. The seams appear to be very uniform and quite likely to hold up better over time. My ground is frozen solid now, but mid-February they will be the first items installed in my spring garden. I can't wait to give them a try. The aqua blue color will look great in my garden.

If you live anywhere that gets below 50 degrees at night, these will really help keep your sensitive plants and seedlings warm. The cool thing is they keep the root zone warm as well. As you can see from the pictures, they don’t cover the top of the actual plant. For extra protection you can pull some frost cloth over the top and secure it. The water will warm up in the sun during the day, and then hold a bit of heat during the night. These are larger than some others I have and will fit fairly sizable pots.

I already have a dozen of these from another manufacturer. They came in packages of 6, so I had to get 2 packages. I love that this is a package of 10, and it is a good price for that number. These are a bit larger than what I have, and I am not at all sad about that. They are also well made, and I anticipate they will last many seasons. This will allow me to get an even earlier start on some plants. They definitely do what they are supposed to do, in protecting plants on cold nights. I use conical tomato cages from the big box hardware store. I put them inside the plant protectors, which allows me to close down the tops of the protectors on really cold nights, but it helps keep them from blowing over in really strong winds. Before I did that, I did not have many blow over, but just one or two flattened plants is enough to need to find a little something to help hold them upright. I consider these plant protectors to be essential for any serious gardener, and this pack is definitely a good add to gardening supplies, given the number and quality.

These are big and sturdy. I can see them lasting multiple seasons to protect my plants from early frost, which is what I bought them for.

I've wanted some of these for years, but there always seemed to be somewhere else that I needed to put those funds. The ones I've seen in the past were much smaller, essentially what you'd use for a plant in a gallon container. These are big and seem just as tough. Of course, I won't know for sure until after a season or two, but so far, so good. I have a few pepper plants left from the past season-- I'm trying these with them. I suggest using a either a watering can with a small spout or a very small hose. Price: 5 for $18.99, which calculates to about $3.80 each. Yeah, it's a good value, and right now there is a coupon, as well. From what I understand, they last more than one season, too. Five stars.

Years ago I had something similar to these. They really do allow you to get a headstart in the garden. The plastic these are made of are heavy and should work well for years. The opening is bigger than the ones I had in the past, but I think I will just use garden clips to close them in the size I want. Great protection from hungry bunnies while the plant is young, and superb insulation.
