These lamps look good and do a nice job of brightening the room, but they are cheaply made. My son pulled the cord so that the lamp fell off of the chair-side table. This was a short fall onto carpeted floor. The metal of the lamp bent in two separate places and now we have a crooked lamp that cannot be fixed.
