  • Metric calibration weight for calibrating other weights, or electronic balances and scales
  • Stainless steel construction for stability, resistance to corrosion, and low magnetic susceptibility
  • Meets American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) specifications for calibration precision
  • Includes impact-resistant polypropylene case

The Adams Equipment stainless steel calibration weight meets American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) specifications and is designed for calibrating other weights, or electronic balances and scales. The weight is constructed of stainless steel for stability, resistance to corrosion, and low magnetic susceptibility. The calibration weight is supplied with an impact-resistant polypropylene case. A choice of ASTM specifications provides a range of calibration precision.

Calibration weights are used to measure the weight or mass of an object using a balance or scale, or to calibrate other weights or instruments. Calibration weights can be certified or uncertified. Certified weights meet strict guidelines for accuracy and can usually be recertified. Certified weights are used in labs where a high degree of accuracy and repeatability is required. Uncertified weights are used where a lower degree of accuracy is required, including student laboratories, rough weighting operations, and measuring force. Hooked and slotted weights are often used to measure pressure, torque, and tensile strength, and to demonstrate basic laws of physics. Calibration weights differ from lab weights, which are general purpose weights used to hold an object in place, similar to a paperweight.

Science education products incorporate applied math and science principles into classroom projects. Teachers in pre-K, elementary, and secondary classrooms use science education kits and products alongside science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum to demonstrate STEM concepts and real-world applications through hands-on activities. Science education projects include a broad range of activities, such as practical experiments in engineering, aeronautics, robotics, energy, chemistry, physics, biology, and geology.

Adam Equipment manufactures balances, scales, and related accessories for laboratory, educational, industrial, retail, and medical applications. The company, which was founded in the United Kingdom in 1972 and has an office in Danbury, CT, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2008 standards.

I had this weight calibrated by the State of Alaska. The weight comes back well within tolerance. Mine in particular is 50.000 148 g (conventional), whereas the tolerance for this class is 0.000 600 g.The price was fantastic given the quality provided.

Weighed this out on multiple lab balances that undergo a monthly certified calibration and got a repeatable 100.0002g.

These are non-adjustable, and perfectly accurate to a tenth of a milligram (100.0000g) as checked against the recently, professionally calibrated commercial balance I use at work.

I used this weight to calibrate an Acculab VI-1mg. The certification is fake but the weight appears to fall within the ATSM Class 2 tolerance limits (reads between 99.995g and 100.005g). Use a sharp knife to cut through the label. If not you'll spend about an hour getting the tenacious stickers off, destroying the (fake) certification label in the process. Don't touch the weight with your bare hands.

Looks good, really good but but precise I normally could not afford is what I purchased this for. A class 1 with expired paperwork if the reviews are to be believed. But it’s a leap of faith as I have no way to adequately test it.What ticked me off though was the sticky, tenacious and tough sticker put over the product info and the center where the weights container unscrewed- insanity!

With out a certification this should cost about $25. But they don't and it weighed out the same as my $150 class one. So its a good value in an overpriced market. Yes, I would buy again.

I was surprised to find that the certification is by Adam Equipment, not ASTM. Still, it's better than nothing.

Good weight.- Came in a nice case.- Had certification from 2014 (purchased 2016). If you really need a Class 1 weight, the certification being 2 years old could be a problem.- If you need a class 2 weight for a 500g scale that measures down to 0.01 g, then this works great.- The weight arrived with no apparent blemishes and no fingerprints from previous miss-handling.- Used a plastic bag to handle the weight to avoid oils from my skin getting on the weight. My scale now thinks this is actually a 500.00 g weight... imagine that after using it to calibrate the scale! (Yes, I know... it was a joke).Reasonable price for an actual calibration weight for my $20 scale. Now if weight making could catch up with modern technology advances in scales to bring the price of the calibration weight down....Great Scale to go with this weight:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CFP0NFA/
