It helps, but I didn’t experience all the hoopla others have been raving about. It lasts 1, maybe 1.5 weeks. My ice maker was still a bit dirty. Vinegar and water is all natural and works just as good and cheaper.

We LOVE our ice maker and use it all the time. The ice started to get cloudy and taste bad - UNTIL we used this cleaner to clean and descale it. RUN, don’t walk to buy this product. You won’t be disappointed. Thanks ACTIVE for another great product.

Made this purchase to keep my ice maker clean and always ready to go. I have had ice makers previously that were difficult to clean and always ended up requiring special cleaning methods to reach some areas, making it such a pain. I recently grabbed a sonic ice maker and it sits on a counter top constantly running, always being refilled with filtered water. After about 2 months of running straight, I noticed yellowy orange colored stains forming, which usually means it's time to clean. Well let me tell you... this product made it a lot easier!I ended up running 1 cycle with the first tablet, then 2 subsequent cycles to flush out any extra nasty stuff. I had a tank full of mold floating in the water! I drained the tank each time the cycle was completed. I threw in a 2nd tablet to get the job done and after 3 or 4 more water cleaning cycles, the system appeared to be clear water, and I was able to wipe clean all the nasty coloring in the tank. The ice started coming out clear and it did taste different, but in a good way.This product does a great job of breaking down the unseen hard water and mold that builds up inside the water linea. It is a very effective product, well worth the money and I definitely plan to purchase again when needed. I also grabbed their coffee maker cleaning tabs and can't wait to use them!

Before finding these, I was trying things like running vinegar through my ice machine, and even coffee maker descaler. It’s great that a single tab can do the trick, while leaving my ice maker clean and smelling fresh. The price point is excellent too, making these an affordable option even if used weekly. Would highly recommend.

My countertop ice machine does not have a self clean application. I had no idea on which descaler cleaner I should use, so I decided to try this one and it worked perfectly! My ice machine is like brand new! No more foggy ice, no more white residue in the tank, and there is no weird chemical taste from the cleaner at all.Granted I did a few freshwater flushes to make sure that all of the cleaner was out of the ice machine. I feel this should be done no matter what you use.This does have certain brands of ice machines that it is safe to use on, but then it does state that it is safe to use on all brands of ice machines. I can attest to the fact that I have a Frigidaire countertop ice machine and it is not listed on the bottle, and it worked fantastic!
