I could not believe this would work so easy. I am an independent person, I hate to ask for help. So I bought this out of desperation. I am 75, over weight with arthritis. I have large feet that swell. It is so easy and well worth the money.

I used this stuff to preserve flowers from a funeral. It works well! Large bag for the price. Good value and good results!

Great for saving flowers that your husband sent for our 10 year anniversary. I preserved them and put them back in the vase for decoration and a reminder of our years

I bought this to remove the moisture & dry a few of my Mother's Day roses, so that I could preserve them in Epoxy Resin. I was expecting lightweight silica SAND when I ordered this product, since that is what is advertised, but the texture of this stuff is more like silica crystals. To fully dry your floral cuts, the instructions say to bury & cover the flowers completely with this product, which basically ends up submerging the floral cuts. Because the weight of these crystals is heavier than I expected, my petal shapes became a bit distorted, no matter how carefully I applied the silica. The manufacturer included a sheet with drying times for every common flower, which was found packed way down inside the bag of crystals. This information sheet recommends 3 days for roses and 4-5 days for rose buds - which is definitely NOT enough time if you're planning to set roses in resin. I've heard from experienced resin sellers (that work with wedding flowers) that they use their silica for no less than 30 days. If there's ANY residual moisture left in your flowers before casting in resin, there's a high probability that your arrangement will rot. Personally, I'm not gonna be taking any chances. I will be following the resin expert's advice and drying my roses for 30 days. The price for 4 pounds of silica is ultimately what attracted me to this particular brand and was the deciding factor to buy. Upon receiving my order, I was happy to see that the product comes in a resealable zip-top bag. For all those reasons, I am currently rating this 4 stars. I will update this review (as needed) after I have set my dried roses in resin and have a finished piece to share.

I switched to this product hoping to get a better result for my flowers, and it is perfect! The quality is amazing, and while I could wish for more product, it fills three-quart mason jars. As you can see in the pictures, the flowers look as good and as vibrant as they did when fresh!

Use this for the best cat litter. If so inclined, you can wash the silica gell in water with bleach, dry it out and use it again. It's very easy to remove poop.

After my wedding, I wanted to preserve my flowers since I had so many of them, they costed money and they were very special to us. I found a lady who preserved wedding floral in resin, so I gave her my bouquet to work with. However, I still had a ton of flowers left over. She told me her process on how she dries the flowers prior to putting them in resin and told me I could dry my remaining floral at home. The process includes drying them in this silica for a few weeks. The process of making sure you get the silica in each of the nook and crannies of the flowers is time consuming, but the end result is beautiful and extra sentimental! All I needed was a tote in addition to the silica and flowers and a minimum of 2 weeks before I could look at them again.

I can't say anything more.. just that it works really well. Just be careful with delicate flowers as the pedals will fall off if you leave it too long. 7 days is what I did and I probably should have done 5Good luck all.BTW. This is awesome based on the fact that it's always a 1 to 1 ratio where others are a bit confusing in my mind lol

Update 5-28-2023:Having read some reviews of disappointing results using silica sand, let me explain a few things based on my own experience:Not all flowers keep their color when dried. Red roses in particular tend to turn a darkish brown, while yellow and white roses dry perfectly. I tried a white large begonia blossom and it turned brown. But the wild little white and purple violets turned out beautiful, as did the many phlox blossoms I chose to dry this year. I dried dandelion flowers, perfect. Even the dainty white sprirea clusters held on to their tiny white petals as long as I let them slide out of the silica sand instead pulling them out. Same with Lily of the Valley clusters.I added several pictures, the first one shows the begonia which I will toss.________________Original review:This silica gel is fine enough to be used for Queen Anne's Lace blossom heads. And that says it all. I have used this brand for years now and keep coming back for more as my drying needs are expanding. It is reusable by gently drying it in the oven on low heat until the pink particles have turned blue again. Great product although they have cut the bag down from 5 to 4 pounds.
