This Action Pump 4006 hand-operated siphon pump is made with polyethylene for resistance to chemicals, has a flow rate of 7 gallons per minute (gpm), and is suitable for dispensing or transferring kerosene, light oils, or various water-based solvents that are compatible with polyethylene. It has an overall length of 45-3/4", a 34" suction tube, and a 4' discharge tube. Price would be good if it worked for my application. The thread is too short for the plastic barrels I use for fuel, so couldn't get good suction.

Horrible product and flimsy. Doesn’t create suction unless these two flimsy tiny red flaps are in place. Once those fall out your done, which is what happened. Suctioning water and after 30 seconds the first flap fell out into the collection bucket then number 2 came out a few seconds later. Have no way to put to the flaps back into place and can’t return it bc it’s out of the 30 day window. Will not purchase again or recommend.

We bought one, for water storage. Three months of Arizona with only 2 hours per day of sunshine and the hose shattered like glass. We contacted the vendor they wanted us to return the pieces, fat chance finding a box this size and shape and adding postage for less than the price of the $8 pump.We bought another one because it was cheaper than a return and moved the barrels onto the porch in total shade. Six months later we had the same problem. The hoses are complete crap. They cannot handle outdoor temperatures. We gave it one star because the pump still moves some water but you can't do so without spraying water everywhere. The hose broke several times before it left us with nothing to use. Good luck trying to find something to attach to the plastic nub where the hoses used to be. Enlarge this photo to see at least three cracks on the spigot where the hose used to be. I cannot believe they had the nerve to double their prices!

This pump is perfect for moving race gas. The suction tube is made for 55 gallon drum. So in my 33 gallon drum I could not screw in the pump without cutting a foot off the suction tube. Otherwise this is an awesome and economical pump.

Helped me empty our 55 gallon water storage containers before our move. Not too difficult to operate and works relatively quickly. Elevation of your containers will make a difference in your experience.

We've used this two months in our 55gal plastic rain barrel. It screws into one of the threaded holes on our barrel's top. Easy to start the water flowing with a few pumps. Because it's a siphon then, it doesn't need to be pumped at all between uses until air gets in the line. The end of the flexible dispensing hose stores in a plastic loop by the pump handle --- you have to make sure it's a few inches through the loop so the hose doesn't fall out & drain away all the water in your container (voice of experience)! Great product --- we previously had a metal pump that rusted out.A lot of people are posting negative comments about this product. I think their problem is that this is a SIPHON and it has a pumping mechanism to START the siphon going. But like all siphons, you need to have the level of the liquid you're pumping FROM higher than the level of the liquid ending up in the container you're pumping TO. If you do, it just keeps flowing w/o more pumping --- if you don't, you'd really have to pump & pump and the transfer rate would be really slow (as in the negative reports).

I use it for 110 racing fuel from a 55 gallon drum.Works great, ive only used it like 3 times but so far so good.
