First, this is not real foam core. It is expanded poly sheet without paper facing on the sides. It might work ok for some applications but not if you expected real foam core.Second, the packaging was nothing more than thin paper and clear plastic wrapped around a stack of sheets. Almost all the corners of the sheets were bent or dented. If you were planning to mount things by lining up on nice square corners they would not be useable.

These are indeed 1/8" thick and are very smooth, grainless styrofoam. There is no paper coating on each side-- they're "foam" but since they are 100% foam throughout, these are NOT "foam core." I am debating about whether they'll work for my project, or I will need to return. These are rigid, but won't have the durability of true paper-coated foam core boards... and cannot be drawn or painted on. The styrofoam is like a slightly thicker foam butcher's tray-- might be good for (very thin) carving and printmaking...The price is great; now I see why.

This product is fine if you are just looking for foam to back up your signs. It does NOT have a paper coating like the foam core boards seen in the craft and office supply stores. It is more like a meat tray from the super market. It has a slick surface that is like a slightly shiny gray. Pen or pencil tlps actually just dig lines into it and only permanent markers will stay. Others will bead up. It is also very thin. Tape adhesive will stick to it, but probably not liquid glue. If foam is what you need, you will like it.

I used these to make a lawn birthday sign. They were such a hit. I was able to cut straight lines with a pair scissors. For rounded parts, I used a box cutter. They are sturdy, easy to work with, and looked amazing.

They were less sturdy than i expected. Not as thick as regular foam core boards. But were in great condition upon opening the box

When I got these, I was thinking I had ordered the wrong thickness, which I actually had (user error). However I was going to use these for making silicone molds in, and for that, they are plenty strong enough for the smaller parts I'm making. Easy to score on one side, and bend without breaking holes in the corner. Some hot glue and bom, box ready for silicone pour.
