The quality of this file box is very nice and sturdy, but I gave it 4 stars for a few reasons ... The divider doesn't stay in place and the cards and constantly falling over, I wish the lid would come off for when I'm using I daily for work and I wish the front lip of the file box was a little lower so I don't have to rest my arm on the metal when trying to scan through the files. I love the color and quality, though!

the file card holder holds 6x9 cards fine. It's thin metal but sturdy enough. The plastic insert doesn't let the lid close so that was a bummer, but otherwise the cards fit fine

My fault for not investigating the size. I saw 6 x 9 and thought this was a perfect size for my recipes. I was hoping to consolidate my three index sized boxes and include folded printed pages and misc. cut out recipes. Just wanted to organize them. This will certainly fit them twice over and future recipes. The bad part, it won't fit back in my cupboard. The top is as tall as the base. This is a very sturdy box, nice aqua metal base, clear top. Lifts and closes easily, rubber feet. Unit comes put together and ready for use. Alphabetized dividers included.

I bought this box for filing 9" X 5.5" cards. I work from home, my office "area" can easily be seen, so I also wanted something rather attractive. Reasonably priced when compared to various cardboard file boxes. I like it - simply works like a filing drawer. And the clear top encourages me to keep it neat inside!

I needed this specific style of box to keep track of inventory cards for my pottery business so I was willing to pay extra for something that would last in the studio. The lid will help keep at least some of the clay dust out of the box and I like that I can see in without opening it, but also have the ability to flip the lid open quickly and easily instead of having to keep track of a regular lid. The bottom seems very sturdy and I imagine it working for a very long time. I also like the color (teal). The file cards that come with it are blank on the back so you can use a different order of storage if you like, although the tabs are circular, which makes it a little awkward to write on. Finally, the plastic insert just doesn't work. It is bowed and so it doesn't fit well into the slots provided. But even if it wasn't bowed, it still sits too high for the lid to close properly, despite all my machinations. I really wanted the insert to work but I will have to figure something else out to support the cards. Even though it was a little pricey and not quite perfect, I expect this will work in the long run and look good doing it.
