Ran on a 5.3 nv4500 build. Shifted very poorly but likely due to engine dowel pins or something putting weight on the input shaft. The 4.8, 6.0, and 4.3 motors all came with manual trans as an option, not the 5.3. Maybe the crank is crookedAt this point i believe this 2003 motor wasn't meant to house a 5 speed because all 4 manual transes i tried on it shift like a s s. This is a cult problem ive seen on forums that has yet to be solved.

Swapped 5speed nv4500 into my 06 SilveradoAnd used this bell housing because it shows the exact gem part number I had researched and found I neededOn arrival bellhousing had a very noticeable crack running front to back maybe 3 inches longWe just drilled the crack in the end and sent it because I had already tore the automatic trans outIt would not fit over a stock 4.8/6.0 pressure plate ( my truck is a 5.3 and they never came with a straight shift )had to grind material away on the inside to get it to fit and also had to elongated 2 bellhousing bolt to block holesBut I will say it’s been in for over a year and it has been beat on and it’s still holding up so I’m not sure if I just happened to order the wrong part number or what hope this helps any one in the future if I can find the pictures of the crack I will attach them but it was also a year or so ago
