About this item

  • Made of high-grade tool steel. Premium hardened & all ground body for extended tool life. Max T.I.R. 0.0002" O.D to I.D. Max RPM: 8000rpm
  • Shank: MT2, ER Collet Size: ER32, Gage Length: 2.36", Collet Nut Diameter: 1.97", Drawbar End: 3/8"-16
  • Collet Capacity: 0.08" - 0.787", Nut Style: Slotted
  • The inside of the ER collet nut is intentionally designed like off-centering to help mount the ER collet much easier. It is in accordance with the requirements listed in ISO 15488:2003(E). If it is made symmetrical, the ER collet with the diameter larger than the inside size of the collet nut cannot be installed.
  • MT2 Shank Compatibility: Fits perfectly with manual milling machines equipped with Morse Taper 2 spindles for enhanced machining stability.
  • ER32 Collet Adaptability: Enables the use of a wide array of collet sizes from 0.08" to 0.787", broadening the scope of machining tasks.
  • Durable Tool Steel Construction: Made from high-grade tool steel, hardened and precision ground for extended tool life and consistent performance.
  • Exceptional Precision: Features a maximum Total Indicator Runout (TIR) of 0.0002" O.D to I.D, crucial for achieving superior machining accuracy.
  • High-Speed Operational Capability: Designed to perform optimally up to 8000 RPM, accommodating both high-speed and precision milling operations.

Attention: Eccentric Ring of the ER Collet Nut

Eccentric Ring of Accusize ER Collets

Collet Nut's Eccentric Ring

The Eccentric Ring is designed per the requirements listed in ISO 15488:2003(E). It is to hold ER collets in place.

Assembly

  • Tilt and insert the collet partway into the nut.
  • Engage the ring into the collet's groove and press until fully seated.

Assembled

  • Tighten the nut lightly with the collet holder.
  • (Warning: never tighten the nut without a cutter in it as it will break)

Disassembly

  1. Take out the nut from the holder.
  2. Press the end of the ER collet until it disengages from its position.
  3. Push the collet out of the nut.

Ok, first off, whenever I receive a new machine tool part, I run it through the sonic bath to remove any grease, machining crap, etc., and after cleaning this chuck - nothing! No metal shavings, the screens are clean.Secondly, this chuck is well machined, and the runout is 0.0002. In the video this is on top of the .0003 runout on the mill spindle. The threading is way beyond any specification requirements, they are the best. Just added it to the tool bin. It passes. As for the name, this one is marked "CanCNC." Some have made a big deal about this, but if you get a quality tool and it fills the need, so what! Use it and move on! I have purchased many tools from Accusize, and have not been let down yet.It has been mentioned that the hole is off center. It's supposed to be like that. Read the DIN ISO 15488 specifications. It's called a setting angle. This chuck is highly recommended!

I see many complaints that the machining is inconsistent or off center. That’s not the cast they just don’t know or didn’t read the instructions how to use the tool. Please read the instructions and see how the collet properly is inserted into this holder.

This thing is awesome! It's a bit of a trick to get your collet to seat properly in the top cap, but once you figure out how to snap it in, its 100% spot on. I use it for turning bespoke pens, which require very, very tight tolerances and this thing gets it done on point.

nothing to dislike, I used this to convert a drill press to a mill

One of my favorite milling machine purchases. This is very well finished, it holds the tool true and very secure. Runout appears excellent, as I'm getting very accurate milling with this - CNC grade tolerances. The threads are very high quality and the price is amazing.

Looks perfect works as expected. Meticulously machined all services are ground and there are no blemishes nicks dings scratches or burs. I returned several other brand R8 - ER25 collet chucks which were complete junk by comparison.

Received R8-ER32 and noticed is NOT Accusize as advertised. It is an off brand I have never heard of "CanCNC". Appears to be deceptive advertising. The product does look nice. I will not know the quality until I use it and throw a dial indicator on it.

This tool stated clearly that the FNC thread was 1/2" - 13tpi. It is in fact 12mm x 1.75mm pitch. This required that I purchase suitable materials to fabricate a new draw bar. This req'd that I waste time finding a local supplier of bolts with that pitch and then driving down there to try it (across the city) just to confirm my strong suspicions (it's difficult to get a real good feel for the fit of the thread gauge when inserted into the MT shaft)The tool otherwise seems, otherwise, to be produced with good fit and finish and the one ER collet I tried was easy to install and remove.I have NOT yet used this in manufacturing due to that draw bar issue. The tool was received in a timely manner and well packed.

The first thing I did was to check the runout. My PM-30MV mill spindle runout is barely measurable at 0.00008. The body OD of this R8 ER32 chuck shows 0.0001 when mounted, but the inside surface of the ER32 surface (where the collet will mount) shows 0.0003. So it just barely misses its advertised 0.0002 spec, even when allowing for my spindle 0.00008 addition. But it is PLENTY good enough for my hobby machinist needs. The machining is beautiful; fits perfectly into my mill, and the nut is smooth. Two small things to mention:- It is laser etched with "CanCNC", not "Accusize" as shown in the listing photo. Others have mentioned this. I'd expect that ordering from Accusize should truly be an Accusize brand. I'd hope that the manufacturer will comment on this.- The flats across the chuck's body are spaced at 41.90mm. Perhaps that's normal for a true Bridgeport mill. Mine is a Precision Mathhews mill and the flats on its spindle are 40.85mm. The PM supplied spindle C-wrench measure at 40.92mm, so it's a fairly snug fit. And so the wrench will NOT fit this Accusize chuck body. No big deal (I'll use my mill to knock a mm off of the body flats), but thought I'd mention it.
