Accusize is a very good alternative to the big (more expensive) tool brands. This is as described and cuts well. The support to the side/underneath the insert helps make a nicer cut but will limit the diameter of the material you are parting off. There are other tools available if you want to be parting off larger diameter stuff though (this is also a small part off tool). Great value considering it comes with 10+1 inserts.

This 5/8" parting tool and insert bundle is a great value and has performed well in my usage so far. The tool looks well machined and clamps down on inserts firmly. The product listing appears to indicate you receive ten inserts, but I received eleven (ten in the insert set, and one already installed in the tool). For testing, I used the insert that came installed in the tool. It appears to be completely identical to the set of inserts provided, so I'm left to assume it's the same.The tool fit securely in my 5/8" tool holder. I made some test cuts in mild steel round bar that I had in my offcuts pile, about 1/2" diameter, following the SFM range recommended on the insert packaging. The parting blade cut pretty well and I had decent results. It takes a little practice to get a feel for the right tool pressure required for a good cut, something I need some more time to develop, but that's not the fault of the tool.Overall I think the parting tool is made to a high quality, and the pack of inserts is a good value for the asking price.

I got this cut-off holder by mistake as I somehow thought it was something else. When my husband looked at it, he laughed at me and told me he does not have a lathe and the only other person he knows with one does not have it set up.So long story short, I have no way of using this and to return it will cost me $7.25. However, my husband assures me that it is good quality stuff.

This parting tool works very well for steel rods 5/8" or smaller. So far, I've tested it with aluminum and mild steel. I really like that they give you 10 carbide blades that are double sided.
