It can be used to set the speed of the blower motor from low to high according to your preferences. Blower Motor Resistor Failure Symptoms
No Air Blowing Through Vehicle's Vents
The blower resistor is responsible for transferring power from the battery to the blower itself, so one of the symptom of the resistance failure is that no air flows out of the car exhaust.
Blower Motor Only Working on High Speed
This occurs due to the failed blower motor resistor not being able to control the flow of electric current.
Blower Motor Does Not Work on Certain Settings
Another symptom of the blower motor resistor failure is that it fails or does not work at all in one or more settings.

Just did the swap with this new part. Tested and my system is functioning properly. Some reviews said it stopped working after so many months. I’ll update if I have the same problem. Product arrived quickly and was correct. The swap was fairly easy. I have a 2011 f150 and the screws were a little snug to get to but that was the hardest part. This fit perfectly. Happy to have full function AC back.

Quality seems to be at least as good as OEM. Worked right away without any issues. Would recommend purchasing the Doorman 973-307 cable to go with it, mine was burnt.

UPDATE:Cheaper priced! Part,to replace the O.E.M Dorman product I purchased last year that costs more $ and is also made in china,has now to this date lasted longer 9-18-20Replacement Dorman product also made in ChinaWill see if this cheaper also made in China lasts more than 4 months!
