The cutters are true and very sharp. The centering punch is spring loaded and accurate. My intended uses are for auto and household washers. Soft metal applications might be allright, but require some edge maintenance.BTW: The case is very nice.

I had low expectations for this, but if it punched a few holes for me one time - it would get the job done for me. I found these to work very well. The material is good. This will last a long time and is as good as other hole punches I purchased that don't go as large as these do. They will have a regular place in my workshop. I use these on leather.

Just what I needed, so far things are fine. They need some way to keep the lid closed during shipping. All the cutters were flopping around in the bag and we were lucky they were not damaged.

I really liked how sharp these are, and for the price they are cost effective. However there is a design flaw that results in the center point not defining where the resulting hole is centered. This is a more challenging engineering problem than one would think, because that center point needs to be spring loaded to retract enough to allow the outer hole to cut. The piston for the center point needs to have enough of a gap around the cylinder wall that it slides in to avoid binding. Unfortunately in these punches the center point has about a mm of slop in the final position, and the lack of concentricity cannot be compensated for because the center point shifts side to side. This result is barely better than hollow punches without a guiding center point.

For so many years I’ve used my razor knife, scissors, hammer punches, etc. to make gaskets. With lots of practice comes decent skill and decent results, but this punch set changes the game! Centering holes has always been a problem with hammer punches. Not with this! Have a dot or centerpunch where you want that bolt hole? Boom! Put this punch needle right there and pow, perfect hole exactly on center! The dies are sharp, they seem smooth and even and concentric with the needle, and my gasket-making results just took a big step forward. Swapping out sizes is super easy and the case is nice for keeping everything together. I oil my tools because humidity here on the Gulf Coast likes to ruin steel, and the case is convenient for keeping dust off them as well as keeping any residual oil from staining nearby materials.I would definitely buy this again.

As a leatherworker, I was looking for some nice dies to cut some clean circles. It has a retractable point which means you can center the circle but since there's no way to view it from above, through, say, windows in the interchangeable dies, it can be difficult to be sure that you're properly centered. Second, the piece that's removed can have a mark left from the center point, limiting the cut piece's potential unless you get creative.It is a very sturdy set and can take a whallop but I can only find myself using a few of the larger dies. I wish they had dies up to 2 inches.

Had this set for a few months now. Every use has been positive. Clean accurate cuts. Always use end grain of softwood as my backing to whatever I’m cutting so as not to damage the cutter edge. Used on rubber, cork, hard gasket material…Well worth the money
