This works with my slide hammer and hasn’t bent yet. Used it multiple times to remove stubborn axle shafts. Slim enough to fit, but doesn’t break. Definitely would recommend

If I could get it more than 5 stars I would. My moms 2013 Nissan Rogue had the cv boot blow grease all over the right front side. I saw a video of someone using this and already had it bought. No way I would have gotten it out without it. The axle has a bearing made on it that goes into an aluminum house. It was seized in. I beat on this thing for an hour with a 5 pound HF maddox slide hammer. I paired it with "ABN Slide Hammer Extension Handle – 17.5 Inch Slide Hammer Adapter Steel Extension Bar CV Joint Puller Tool". (I just copied and pasted the description.). It finally pulled the axle without no damage to the tool.

I bought this to make it easier with CV axle removal for my front wheel drive 2008 CRV. I couldn’t get clearance from above or below to use it on the driver side. I was able to use a pry bar to get the needed leverage. However, it worked like a charm on the passenger side as I couldn’t access below with a pry bar but had clearance from above and used this with my slap hammer and it popped right out.

I bought this tool knowing that some people had to modify theirs to fit around their specific vehicle's CV axle. My 2004 Toyota Matrix was one of those vehicles. Although I didn't measure it before I had to modify it, I trust it was indeed 48mm. With a bench vise and an angle grinder, I was able to widen the "U" to approximately a 52.5mm opening which slipped around the axle perfectly. Modified or not, the tool is sturdy. It fits my slide hammer perfectly. I've ordered the slide hammer extension handle made by ABN to use in the future if I need to pull the passenger axle again. I'd recommend this tool, even if you might need to widen the opening. The only other tool I could find had a 63mm opening. I thought that might be too wide.

I own a Chevy Cruze Turbo-Diesel with a 2 piece passenger side axel. This one is much larger than any other Cruze variant because of the extremely high torque of that diesel motor. It's also secured with a cast aluminum mount that contains its own roller bearing. That mount is also unlike any of the other similar molunts found in other Cruze models and is much larger. Because of that, the axel cannot be removed as a single piece and the mount can't be unbolted until the axle is out. I told you all that to tell you this: There is exactly ONE way to remove the axel on this car, and it involves using a tool like THIS. So it better damn well work, because you have no other options to consider. Hammering? Forget it. Air Hammer? Forget it. Drifts? Spinning it? Prying it form all sides with massive pry bars? Nope, no, no way. Doesn't work. Tried it all.But this one tool worked with a single blow of the slide hammer. Just went 'pop' and proved I had wasted an entire day of trying to get this axle out without it.
