This ball does fill up but isn't the same size as the other size 5 balls my daughter has in her gear bag it's smallerIt looses a little air probably why it comes with a pump.

This ball/ pump combo was purchased as a gift for Operation Christmas Child, through Samaritan’s Purse. Since it had to fit in a shoe box, it had to come deflated & with a pump, which to inflate it when the child received it. This fit the bill. Well pleased as I’m sure the child will be.

Have had it less than a month, and my son showed it to me yesterday because it had a tear and the outer layer is peeling away : ( Disposable toys that last a month are not the way to go. Disappointing.
