It works and fits perfectly. However the frame is round and this piece is flat, so even when you tighten the handle very tight, because it's a flat piece to a round piece, it moves it flexes etc. the original plastic has flared molded ends that match to the round shape of the frame so when tight it doesn't move. The drawback of the original is that it's plastic and not strong...

I have put up with a broken grab handle in my truck for at least 5 years. My improvised attempts at repair were wholly ineffective and I just accepted that repair was not an option (and it wasn’t important enough to try to replace the whole a-pillar piece). This kit is inexpensive and so easy to install. In less than 20 minutes my grab handle is back in place and better than new. It is so easy and effective that I plan to order another kit to put on the passenger side, even though it still looks fine and is just a little wobbly. No need to wait for it to completely break since I can fix it so easily.

It's an interesting fix for a vexing problem. Dodge is Chrysler, so their plastic parts just give up over time. Quality is definitely NOT job one.The grab handle is molded from one piece of plastic that just can't hold up over time. My truck is a 2007 Ram 2500 and I'm the 2nd owner. My grab handle was loose when I bought it with 67,000 miles on it. I tried tightening it, but it was already tight. So I pulled it apart and took a look.Sure enough, Dodge plastic failure. So, off to eBay to look for a replacement.$50?! Each?? No thanks, not yet. Then I find THIS interesting "fix". Skeptical, but for $13, ok I'll try it.Sure enough it didn't work as advertised. But, with a little super glue, the main larger bushing held tight so the smaller bushing could fit inside and be screwed down tight.I'm sure the aluminum pieces will outlet the plastic, just be sure to have good quality super glue handy in case the large bushing just slides right out of the big hole in the handle.Once it's glued, it works as advertised.Good job even with the glue because the grab handle is tight and no longer loose and wiggling around. We'll see how long the glue lasts...
