With the price of watercolor paper getting too pricey I took a chance on this very reasonable priced Watercolor pad. While it is 140 pound paper I suspect it’s mostly recycled paper and little or no rag. The paint sits on the surface which has little texture for a cold press. The surface is almost smooth like hot press and the paint is not absorbed like typical quality watercolor paper. The surface easily pils if worked too much and if you tape it down the surface peels off with the tape. Might be good for sketching and light washes but is priced very low and the saying you get what you pay for probably applies here. It is not like Arches or Saunders Waterford paper

I have been using this paper for monthly watercolor challenges. When attempting to remove the sheet from the pad it tore irregularly into the painting. This sheet was part of an exercise, so only a small disappointment. My remedy was to peel back glue at head of paper. Sheets come loose and extra loose sheets are stored for another day. I haven't used the paper for large area of wet on wet technique. Otherwise, good watercolor paper for my needs.

I paint wet! I usually have to spend a lot of money on quality wc paper that can handle a lot of water however this paper can handle quite a bit and leaves a nice shine to my work. I just love it and bought some more

The 300g papers work well. I used 4 pieces to make a sketch book. It is much cheaper than buying pocket sketch books. The thickness is good enough for my daily exercise. The paper drys quickly so be mindful if you are a watercolor beginner like me.
