some of the pins bend instead of penetrating the tie

These came quickly but the pins bent when attempting to put through the ties. I thought maybe it was the type of tie at first but they bent on all different materials.

These were purchased to give as gifts. The pins are individually wrapped andnof good quality. They are priced right and the size is just right for tie pins. The only things I wish were different is a variety of color combinations or different designs.

These tie tacks are pretty low quality, and also do not have a long enough pin to penetrate through ties. I suggest finding one really nice tie tack elsewhere and sticking with that.

The quality of the metal used on the pins was so cheap that it couldn't penetrate my tie without tearing it! Then they bent under the pressure of trying to push it into the lock base. I knew something was fishy about these when I saw the price of 9 being sold for what I had paid for just 1 good one 10-15 years ago! Their quality is terrible! You need a push pin that's machined to a sharp point that easily engages and releases from the base pot. Don't waste your money. It's unbelievably hard to find tie tacks anymore at the department store, so do your homework on finding a quality pin online!
